Helllmans vs Dukes
What do you prefer? I’ve been a Hellman’s user all my life and I just bought my first jug of Dukes. Just thought I’d give it a try (haven’t yet). I grew up with Hellmans and have never used anything else. Are there significant differences?
Wife grew up with Miracle Whip. Thanks for any replies! |

AFA Miracle Whip goes, It's a crime against humanity! :p |
On the west coast, Hellmans is Best Foods Real Mayonnaise. So, my preference is Hellmans. Have had both and Dukes is fine.
Miracle Whip, imho, the miracle is that they are still in business. Like non-dairy whipped topping pretending to be whipped cream, just doesn't taste good. Again, imho. |
Had alot of both
Hellmans all the way

Mayo, Florida jokingly changes name to "Miracle Whip"

If you have a preference, Dukes does not have bioengineered ingredients like Hellman's does.

I also prefer Hellman's. I find Dukes to be more eggy (Is that a word?) Miracle Whip is not mayonnaise.

I find Aldi's own brand mayo just as good.
In fact, I find many of Aldi's own products as good as, and in some cases better than the big brand names, and a whole lot cheaper. |

Hellmann's for life. Duke's if Hellmann's isn't available and I can't wait for some reason. We'll just do without tuna salad if the only option was Miracle Whip.

There was a poll taken last year by the Raleigh News & Observer.
Duke's was the clear winner. Duke's 61% Hellmann's 21% Kraft 7% Miracle Whip 5% Kewpie??? 3% Heinz??? 0% https://www.newsobserver.com/living/...278534189.html |

I'm surprised nobody mentioned Blue Plate.

I'm about to open my first jar of Blue Plate. I don't like Duke's and if Hellman's has 60% of the American market, it must mean it's bland & flavorless in comparison to other options. I loved the Blue Plate label, so that was my choice on my last trip to Publix. |

In our Southern kitchen it has and will always be Duke’s. Spouse grew up with MW. I had to go to a Commissary while living in the north to buy Duke’s, but worth two hour trip.

Soybean Oil, Eggs, Water, Distilled and Cider Vinegar, Salt, Oleoresin Paprika, Natural Flavors, Calcium Disodium EDTA Added to Protect Flavor. On the Hellman's container, it simply says "ingredients derived from a bioengineered source". Doesn't say what ingredient. Hellman's is now making a vegan mayo that does not have that. |
I think all mayonnaise is bland. I always add something to give more flavor. Sriracha, lemon zest, lime zest, garlic, chipotle, etc. It depends on what I am making. The added ingredient(s) turns bland into extraordinary. Therefore, I buy whatever brand is on sale.

I grew up on Miracle Whip but now we use Kraft, made with olive oil. I’ve never seen/heard of Duke’s. Look forward to trying it in April!

A healthier option than either is avocado mayo to avoid the transfat in mainstream mayo brands.
|
I was always a Hellman's customer, tried Dukes. Now I can't taste the difference. Duke's seems to be a little creamier, I buy what ever is on sale now or I have a coupon for.
