Hanging large tv on wall
 

Was looking for recommendations for someone who can hang a 65 inch tv on a stucco wall. Can it be done ?

Just make sure the person who does it leave enough room to get hand to HDMI sockets etc.

They make mounts that telescope out from the wall , makes it a lot easier, put a 85" up that way, just be careful the mount is rated for the weight of the TV

And the mount is bolted into the centers of multiple studs!

I recommend Tom too. He mounted a large TV in the livingroom with a Sono arc under it also beautifully mounted - both flat to the wall. A studio TV which can be rotated horizontally to vertically and pivoted - I use it for art. A kitchen nook TV on a universal mount so I can watch it from my breakfast nook or turn it towards the counter if I am preparing a meal from say, Youtube. The lanai TV is on a dedicated shelf and didn’t need mounting and I held out in protest against TVs in the bedroom or bathroom.

What village are you in? I helped a couple Neighbors in Newell hang there's, No Charge. Wouldn't take money when offered, just trying to be neighborly. I have the correct hammer drill, and concrete screws. You would be going into concrete, so there are no studs to attach too. If you have mount, it takes about 20-30 minutes. Message me if you want help.

We just had one mounted by Galaxy Home Solutions in Wildwood. They did an excellent job.

Yes, I have a 75" hanging on my stucco wall. I use Juan Mora at 407-868-7378. He actually works for a company that installation satellite systems (like Directv) but does private installation on the side. He has hung several TVs for me, one of which was an 65" outside on a cinder block wall. If he is not available I have also used his buddy Juan Lenis at 954-821-4515. Both do good work. Recommended.

This is a stucco home - no studs (on exterior walls). My home has poured concrete walls. I have a 65" TV on a telescoping mount that's been there for 5 years, no issues. I used Tapcon concrete fasteners to mount it to the wall. It's fairly easy if you have a hammer drill.

What is the cost, plus mount?

To mount, move outlets up behind TV & install soundbar (hiding cables) $500.

Mounts come in two main varieties (flat and telescoping/swivel). They typically run anywhere from $75 to $150.

Labor typically takes 2+ hours. A lot more if you need power/electrical done or running wires "invisible" through an interior wall..

Why pay a company. Don’t any neighbors or friends know how to mount a TV?

Well just my experience, when we had a designer home on Morning Glory we hung a 50” in our bedroom & to our displeasure we didn’t have any wood studs in wall they were all metal studs & we had to buy metal expansion dolly’s to put in metal studs, yes you can do it yourself but was a little more work!

Use Tapcons. And get a swing out TV mount

Do it yourself, very easy to do. You will need a hammer drill, drill bit, level, tapcon screws for the weight of your tv, and a nice tv mount.
That’s the easy part. What’s harder is:
* the mounting location (position on the wall), you want to mount it so you aren’t straining to look at it. For example, many people put a tv above a fireplace so you are straining your neck everytime you watch tv.

* hiding the wires. For a professional looking install, you don’t want to see any wires running down the wall. I see installations that cost the homeowner hundreds of $$$ and you see many wires in the open which looks tacky. There are ways to hide the wires and the ways I’ve done this are:
* build a false wall an inch out from the wall that goes as low as the cabinet below the tv that holds your gear like dvd player, PlayStation or Wii, etc.
* a normal drywall wall, punch a hole behind the tv and then at the bottom of the wall, punch another hole so the wires will be placed in this channel.
* you can buy a piece of square channel conduit and place it in the center and place all your wires in this square conduit.

Even easier and the tv gets to be the right height for viewing and that’s to get a 2’ tall video cabinet where you can put your tv on and put all your tv accessories in. I’ve done this for decades in my living rooms and it works great. I place my 65” curved tv on this 7’ wide, 2’ tall cabinet with 4 ventilated doors to gain access to your stereo equipment, cd, dvd players, Wii, Apple TV box, and more.
