Yamaha vs Club Car
For a new gas powered golf cart, looking at either the Yamaha PTV or the Club Car Onward.
What's the opinion of the group, based on experience? Thx guzzel |

Hopefully in future these cart manufacturers will start adding items like disc brakes on them. Saw a golf cart/off road vehicle in Walmart with 4 wheel disc brakes, more beefed up suspension etc. and it was $8000. El |
Gas=Yamaha
Electric=Club |
You should test drive both. I have a 2022 Yamaha and recently drove a 2023 Club Car (both carts were gas models). The Yamaha hands down is better. The Club Car is MUCH louder and rides like one of the maintenance carts you see around a course.

Gas Club Cars are really LOUD.
|
Gas Club Cars are loud. I've never driven an Onward but I own a Precedent. The suspension is horrible. Just springs, no shocks. But it turns much tighter than our Yamaha does, and that's a huge plus around here, where you never know who, or whose dog, is going to dart into the middle of the road without warning and you need to get around them in a hurry.

We have both. Wife is 5’2” and loves the club car, but I am 6’1” and totally cramped in it. I love the room and ride of the Yamaha. Yamaha is less noisy and takes the bumps better, but club car has more power and tighter steering. The club car also has a stronger appetite for gas and has proven to require more maintenance.

CC cheap, Yamaha luxury.

No brainer - Yamaha.
|
There is a reason for the Yamaha making up around 7 out of 10 gas carts in The Villages. They are quiet. They have 4-wheel independent suspension. They are reliable. There is no shortage of qualified folks to service them. Take test drives and compare for yourself. Next to the Yamaha, you will find the Club Car is excessively noisy, and rides like a skateboard.

Yamaha's concept golf cart-hydrogen powered.

Golf Car
Absolutely correct. correct, correct,correct,correct. Once you decide, put some good seats in it.....................most important...........spend a little save your a..s..........
If not on the car you buy, go online to EL TIGRE.........they have a store across from Brownwood on the MacDonalds side.way in the back on the left............pick your own, they will install for a small fee...the right golf car and great seats makes you a winner............ Quote:

If you have a screen on your garage door watch the height of the cart.

On second thought
Get the Club Car gas unless you want everyone passing you. The speed is better and you will be able to keep up with the rest.

Yamaha for sure. The Villages Golf Cars used to use the Club Car for a loaner during service. People complained so much they went back to Yamaha for loaners. What a joke Club Car is. If I had to use that I would rather walk.
Pay the extra and get Yamaha Quietek. It has independent suspension and is 5 times quieter than the raucous Club Car. If you can hear at all it is quite loud and the ride is stiff and back breaking. So what do you think would be the best???:jester: |

On a par with Club Cart is the EZ GO gas, which is loud and has a harsh ride. One of the salesmen at Village Cart admitted to me that he always tries to get a customer to drive an EZ GO before they drive a Yamaha as the Yamaha then sells itself.

Club Cars are missing the boat because they are so noisy. The new Onward seems louder than my 2015 Club Car. Styling wise, I would give Club Car the nod. Yamaha had not made a style update in years. Making small changes to the head/tail lights do not count. Will all that said, if I was buying a new gas cart today I would probably go with Yamaha. If I was getting the best cart, for my needs, I would get a Star Sirius with a lithium battery.

This gets old so quickly……….

We love our Club Car Onward gas cart. 3 years old and we take it all over. Just today, we went from Sawgrass up to Spanish Springs lanes to bowl.
With the money we saved over the Villages carts, we put in better seats. |

Battery vs gas! The beat goes on and on and on and on… to each their own. Yamaha is superior for our needs in TV IMHO.
