Prediction for the Masters

The Masters starts tomorrow.

Carl Spackler?

I still harbor ill feelings for those who jumped to LIV. I understand that $$$$$$$$ talks and they walked, but it hurt men’s golf. Stats show a drop of more than 25% drop in viewers. I don’t watch as much pro golf as I did, with the split of players.

But will definitely watch the Masters. And root for a PGA winner. Scottie.

Koepka, but would love to see Rory finish grand slam. He was the unofficial flag bearer for PGA Tour when others bailed for dough.

Two Bills 04-11-2024 02:27 AM

The way he has been playing lately, I fancy Scotty Scheffler.
Would like to see Rory in the mix as well.

Joaquin Niemann

My heart is with Rory. My money is with DeChambeau.

I predict a green jacket will be given to the winner

will win - the man with the lowest score after 72 holes.

want - Speith, but will not bet $.

tophcfa 04-11-2024 02:49 PM

I’m thinking either Victor Hovland or Will Zalatoris?

Tiger obviously isn't gonna be in the running but his presence definitely makes it nostalgic!

Spieth just quadruple bogeyed 15. He is tied for 80 in a field of 89. Will probably miss the cut.

I'd like to change my "want" from Speith to ANYONE else.... omg...

Masters doesn’t start until back 9 on Sunday

Was the Masters less exciting this year?

There were only 21 eagles made during the tournament. The record is 47 in 2015.

Only three of the top 10 players had an eagle - Scheffler on Saturday, Smith on Sunday, and Zalatoris on Thursday. And not one of the leaders had an eagle on the back nine on Sunday.

Commentators said that lengthening some of the holes have caused players to layup more than in past years. I think that laying up makes for less exciting golf.

Should they make the holes shorter and have easier pin positions- at least on Sunday?

Two Bills 04-15-2024 07:32 AM

The wind was a major factor in this year's tournament, and the reason for high scores, and not so many eagles etc.
I like it when conditions are tough, and pro's struggle, rather than the target golf dished up at most tournaments between majors.
Seeing half the field 20+ under par is boring.

British Open is a perfect example. Wind, clouds and raw temps.... cup placement etc. Has a way of evening out the competition

The Open is usually played on courses modern pro's can eat.
The course's only protection, in most cases, is the weather, and real rough.
Not grass an inch longer than the fairways, that pretends to be rough.

There is a report that Rory has been offered $850 million to join LIV. He has denied it. But they always do.

I think he is past his prime. Tiger only won one major after he turned 35. Rory will be 35 next month and I can’t see him winning too many majors.

If it is true, should he jump?? Or turn down $850 million?

If true, and he does, THAT would be the greatest shocker of golf. He was the most outspoken opponent to LiV. He’s very well off, and would not risk his Word or Reputation for this..,

Shipping up to Boston 04-16-2024 05:03 PM

He appears to have not only walked back his LIV comments but has left the door open as well. So I do believe he would....
