Home Depot
I really look forward to HD opening in Wildwood. I can't seem to find anything and wondering if anyone knows when the grand opening is scheduled?

Looks close. I'm guessing maybe a week.

Traffic is becoming a real nightmare in that area, but it'll be nice to have a Home Depot closer.

My local HD up north not long ago had a small fire with smoke damage and had to replace 90% of the inventory. That took over 4 weeks and they said that's standard for stocking a full store. |

MichaelG....nope Home Depot is opening on Powell road
|
tophcfa....NOT golf cart accessible. It's on Powell Road and that is not accessible with a golf cart
|
My grandson just got hired there. He told us last night the target date to open is May 30th.

Was at my country office yesterday and from my office window watched several trucks pull out, obviously delivering merchandise for the shelves. Taking a flyover later this morning to get a look see on how things are going. Another week or two and they may be opening. And no it’s not golf cart accessible.

They are currently training and onboarding employees for that location at Lady Lake.

Try Ace Hardware on 301. They have everything plus a knowledgeable, personable staff.

Around MAY 18th
I have a relative who works for HD and that is what they are being told. Some of the Lady Lake staff have already transferred there.
|
[QUOTE=MrChip72;2323196]Definitely not a week. The store has no stock being brought in at least when I last looked a few days ago.
I was in the Lady Lake store today and employees mentioned they will be training the staff for the new store beginning Monday. |

Memorial Day is May 27th. That day is a big day for stores like Lowes and Home Depot. That would be a great grand opening day for Home Depot.

Can't wait! Lowes is a complete train wreck. Bought an outlet box last week. Paid cash since it was only $3. Didn't need it so I brought it back and they will not allow a return because I did not have a receipt and it was not put on a credit card. They said it was a new policy and now all us law abiding people have to be punished for a few who apparently steal and try to return. Now I know one customer that Lowes sent to their competitor for a lifetime of purchases in exchange for $3. Maybe they'll put a Costco where the Lowes is when they go out of business!

I have a friend who lives in a Wildwood golf cart allowed community west of Powell Road, south of 466A. He would have GC access to the Home Depot.
I don't know the Golf Cart laws, but he told me he crosses Powell Road to access The Villages on the east side of Powell Road. He said it's allowed as long as the speed limit of the road crossed is 45 MPH or less and he crosses at an intersection with a traffic light. |
