Looking over the Sawgrass bridge towards the south Villages.

I think I see the Orlando Airport in the distance !! :crap2:
|
Incredible amount of building going on down there.

I drove through there (Bexley Drive) for the first time Friday on my way to the turnpike. It is enormous. I thought the constuction would never end. That is a major league project. Infrastructure is being laid or the next decade!!

But get a good look at it in this dawn or dusk timeline picture. Once completed, those roads will not be as user friendly as they appear in the photo |
By then there will be more expansions. We are most likely just at the beginning of development. The ball is rolling.

50 more acres and TV can declare itself a separate state.

I believe it's called the "Bexley" bridge

In 10-years, Orlando will be a suburb of TVs. Just picture the gas and charging stations along the 6-lane MMTs heading south. It'll become a whole new revenue source for the Morse's.

The Billages
No longer The Friendliest Home Town. Grown too big.
|
I think the goal is to be able drive a golf cart to EPCOT, et al.
|
Certainly bangs home that there is always a home for sale in the villages !! Newer and better areas as well..

It will be busy! If they charged a toll, they could abolish the amenity fees!! The Villages - Florida's Friendliest Active Adult 55+ Retirement Community |
How big does it have to be before TV becomes a true city with a mayor and council?

When we moved into our new home in 2014, there was suspicion that the Developer Family would pack it in and cash out. The talk was “Buildout”. No construction south of Route 44. Sure…. We were located near the southern end of TV, now in the middle. Middleton will probably be the middle in a decade or so. Will be 250k folks then.

We have a friend in bushnell he showed me massive new land development around bushnell. He has been told these are all the villages land clearing areas. True or not who knows but looking at them doing it and to me I have to agree. As far as I am concerned there are going to be way way more homes being built. Yes it will change that “bubble” fomo is going out the door. The next interesting situation is the massive rise in new listings in Florida. More inventory is coming and the sales are stalling. Will is affect pricing no one knows yet.

Looking forward to the growth of the next 25 years ! It’s absolutely amazing watching all this unfold. This is why I chose to move to The Villages. Can’t wait for all the activities that Eastport will bring.

It was pasture landheld future McDonalds hamburgers. Which is not always good for the ecology. There was some nasty materials left behind that needed to be mitigated and cleaned up. The viable trees that were there were retained and will be maintained. Many more trees are added during the "Florida friendly" landscaping phase. There many new lakes, and they are generally larger than before. Similar to the chain of lakes in Linden/Monarch Grove. One lake just south of Central Parkway is close to a mile long. And there's no question the diversity and population of the landscape and wildlife improves with all the lakes and added landscaping. |

Plenty friendly where I live near Sawgrass. Not sure where you live but sorry for you and where you reside. |

Good point, isn’t that why a new tag line is in the works……?

But that 1% of those who complain that TV is too big, or not friendly, rarely leaves their home base by more than 5 miles. Yet is very unhappy about the new neighborhoods. To give an example two guys at Hilltop were rattling on about how ridiculous all of these new areas and it needs to stop. It’s infringing on our lifestyles by having so many people. I asked when they traveled to LSL was it just too many people? Answer “Never been there” So did you find the people at Brownwood not friendly? Answer “Where’s that” The few who have traveled to Brownwood even from SS area, many thought it was just to far of a drive. In all the years I have asked why are you so unhappy about the new build, only a few have traveled below 466. I remember after renting in LSL for years we bought our first house in Pennacamp. We were so excited, and yet everyone who asked where we bought thought we had just thrown our money away. “You are never going to sell that house it’s in left field, not close to anywhere, that neighborhood will have empty houses for years. You got swindled” Well that didn’t happen. So I ask from those who no longer think this is a community of people is friendly, do you find the younger residents are not respectful of your age, and that’s why it’s not friendly |
