Your windows might have a 20 year warranty. Call The Villages warranty department. If covered, the windows will be free but there may be a labor charge.

If the frames are good and it is just the glass that needs to be replaced, try calling Lake glass and mirror, I believe they can make replacement glass panels
|
I would second Lake Glass and Mirror in Leesburg, 352-787-4700. Expect to pay about $10 per square foot for double pane glass, depending on the quality of glass you select.

BayKid, call the warranty department and ask who installed the windows when the house was built. Then, call them. windows fogging up is a sign of a new seal needed
|
We had 2 fogged windows replaced. They were under warranty.
|
I called TV home warranty and provided me with the manufacturer information for warranties. There, they provided me the contact information of a local guy who came over, measured and order the replacement glass. He later contacted me when the glass was available, came over and replaced them. He also pointed out a couple more that needed replacement. I let them to explain you the cost associated with the process. He replaced 11 panels for about $1,000.,,,, that was for labor.

I had 2 sets, 4 windows under warranty for for 5 years, RoMac ordered them, but I had to install them.
Not big job, the lower just pops in/out, the upper needs to be cut out with vibrating saw to get thru the caulking. remove clean out re caulk. took about a hour for each set. |
Most want to change the whole window

The warranty for the windows for the ORIGINAL owner is 10 years. No warranty coverage for subsequent owners . Call them right now to verify what I said . I will gladly apologize if I’m wrong . Just don’t like to see misinformation posted …. |
One more time, on my house the warranty on the windows is 20 years. This was stated by The Villages Warranty Department. The fellow from Romac who came out to order replacement windows (seal failed) confirmed the warranty is for 20 years. I don’t know about your house. In my original post, I said “might have a 20 year warranty” and advised the OP to call warranty to check. I am not the only one with a 20 year warranty, see post #14.

The actual people doing the warranty work on my windows (Romac, they took over from the original vendor), confirmed, in person, 20 years. Will they change their mind? Perhaps but for now they are honoring the 20 year warranty. How do I know this? They are in the process of replacing 3 windows with failed seals.
