Unfrosted on Netflix

The 80s had Airplane, the 2020s has Unfrosted. Extremely satirical, but quite laughable.

I will have to check that one out.

"Joey, do you like movies about gladiators"

"Ever been in Turkish prison"

Is it on that level? I'm in!

I had high hopes, but was fast asleep an hour in. No enough car chases and a zero death toll, I guess. I think Hollyweird must of broke my funny bone since the last time they tried it.

retiredguy123 05-06-2024 05:54 PM

I fell asleep in 34 minutes. It's definitely no "Airplane".

shaw8700@outlook.com 05-06-2024 06:01 PM

It was not like anything else. It was a delightful film!

Airplane was released in 1980...and its still talked about. So we can all circle around in 40 plus years and see if this one is remembered in that same regard. But i'll give it the due diligence at some point...

Always liked Seinfeld, plan to watch it.

manaboutown 05-06-2024 09:55 PM

Netflix? No thanks!

spd2918 05-06-2024 10:06 PM

Lisa and I just finished it. It was fun and different. Definitely Seinfeld's style.

The John Hamm bit was priceless.

Don't call me Shirley!

Glad I didn’t pay for it!

I picked the wrong week to quit sniffing glue.

Boomer 05-07-2024 11:46 AM

Had not heard of it. Looked it up. That is quite a cast.

Will try it later.

(Been watching “Franklin” on Apple and although it is interesting, done very well, and Michael Douglas is outstanding, I am ready for something funny now.)

Thank you.

Boomer

1. Must have cost a Zillion to make. Many stars and the sets et al. Unless much of that was CGI.

2. Love Jerry Seinfeld. But the movie was a bit too much “out there” with so many…. Non-funny side stories.

3. Did not appreciate some of the Dark humor. Esp the references to JFK assasination and others. Too soon….

4. Yet another reason why Netflix is always increasing fees. Gotta pay the piper for these productions.

JMintzer 05-07-2024 05:03 PM

"Airplane" funny? No...

But still pretty freakin' funny...

ChicagoNative 05-08-2024 05:58 AM

Lots of famous people and character actors that you’ll recognize. Some good satire and a few chuckles, but if you’re looking for belly laughs, you won’t find them here. At least it’s only 90 minutes long! I’d give it a “C”.

On a completely different Netflix note, if you’re looking for a disturbing true story, check out Baby Reindeer.

I watched it last night for the first time. I might give it a little better grade (C+)...but I was going into with having the Airplane seed planted as the comparison. Not even the same hemisphere. Would still recommend it though

Stu from NYC 05-08-2024 07:56 AM

Started last night, was funny but not hilarious.

For me best to watch in increments of 20 minutes or so

Snakster66 05-08-2024 08:32 AM

Meh.

It tried too hard.

We enjoyed it. Laughed a lot! Totally silly, but a lot of fun.

villager7591 05-12-2024 06:20 AM

I found it very juvenile. Would be funny on mushrooms.

There were some funny scenes and a lot of named people in it but all in all it was a dumb movie that would never succeed in the theaters.

I didn't love the mocking of the Jan 6 stuff simply because I'd have like to not be reminded of politics. But the JFK thing, too soon? It was over 60 years ago and there was a Seinfeld episode also with this as the subject.
