House Hunting
Hi - looking for a home with a fenced in yard AND view, prefer Fenny, DeSoto area, please let me know if you see anything for sale.
|
If it's a fenced in yard, what view are you expecting to see? It'll be obscured by the fence.

OP, if you are after the fenced yard for your pet, please do a search on this site, this is NOT recommended, way too many predators in this area.
|
You should get a VLS & an MLS agents. They can select all of the homes with your two priorities, except any FSBO. There are a few homes with picket-style fences adjoining golf courses but I cant recall which Village & dont know if any are listed for sale now.

Hi Harvin. You can just go to Homefinder - The Villages(R) Homes and Villas for Sale
Check by Village what is for sale. Then look for Veranda homes. You can then filter for the homesite lot you are looking for such as water golf, preserve etc.. you will have vinyl fences on the side and a rod iron one in the back for your view. If you have any trouble privately message me and I will help you out. You can also call my Villages Realtor, Ben Bartlett. He is very good, attentive and not pushy. 3524618155 Good luck Have a great day Thanks Serge |
Looking for a fenced yard
I have a house in the village of De Soto that is on the water that is mostly fenced
That has been rented for several years, but the tenant has not committed to another years rent so I could sell it. If interested, feel free to let me know. Thank you, Mike. |

there are many discussions about predators, even larger dogs are at risk There are many threads on birdcages, with an area for your dog to relive themselves. |
Would you be willing to do another long term rental ? Let’s say for 2 years? I’m asking for my brother who is looking to relocate to the Villages. I myself live in the Charlotte area off of Morse.

Even if you have specific buying criteria, it's much easier and far less expensive to setup your own search criteria on the VLS (via the Villages app) and also on the MLS (via realtor.com). But if you want an agent to search for you, you can retain a buyer's agent....

Granted, it's a wall, not a fence, so there is a bit more protection. But no way would they be out there without our supervision. |
Fence for my dog.

Don't change your search. All the "disasters" listed have never happened to us in the last 12 years. I love having free reign for our pups out on the patio. If you plan on sitting outside, it is nice to have them with you. When we sit on the front porch, we have to have them on lines or leashes. |
We back up to the prairie, with a drop of 10’ wall, and a fence on top of the wall. While we aren’t fenced in. we do have predators.
Bob cat runs along the outside of the fence setting off our cameras nightly. The little family of coyotes Mom, Dad, and 3 pups travel between our pool and the wall. No snakes in our area, but around the corner are couple of coral snakes We have bird of prey that sit on the house next door, watching our 4 pound cat in the birdcage. Unlikely they will ever figure out how to open the screened doors, but they could have escaped from a circus.:girlneener: As far as palmetto bugs, she has eaten or tried to eat on two separate occasions. Took her a week of vomiting, and other intestinal issues to recover. Vet said it will work itself out. Keep hydrating. You didn’t say how big your pet is, but I will admit when our grand dogs visit at 45 pounds they are never out alone day or night. I wouldn’t change search, for a veranda or CYV, but just caution at night |

Agree. Chances are with OP's budget, he won't be backing up to a prairie, but I wouldn't worry about predators, depending on the dog's size. I would definitely not let them out unsupervised, even if they're larger. As I speak we're sitting out on the patio of our CYV. There's a great breeze, it's cool and pleasant, and the dogs are running around chasing anoles that they will never catch. It's sooo nice to be out here after the 90+ hot sun day. And having the rascals out here with us makes it even better. |
