Tire Kingdom for Service

Is Tire Kingdom in Oxford a good place for auto service?
I thought I read here at one time people were happy with their service.

I did a search here with no luck.

Cheers!

retiredguy123 06-14-2024 01:06 PM

Never used them, but the company has an "F" rating with the BBB and 447 complaints within the past 12 months. Note that these complaints could be spread over all the stores in the chain. As usual, their website shows 282 customer reviews, almost all of which are 5 stars. Apparently, buying fake reviews is very easy.

JohnN 06-14-2024 02:51 PM

Tire Kingdom on 466A repeatedly tried to oversell me on services, even when I requested upfront that they not do that.
Maybe the one in Oxford is better, but.... I don't know. I won't visit a TK again.

Carla B 06-14-2024 03:49 PM

We only have experience with TK in South FL. They couldn't even do a simple tire rotation and balancing without screwing it up (trying to cheat). Have never set foot in a Tire Kingdom location here.

Topspinmo 06-14-2024 04:53 PM

Walmart next block over, their auto service department always busy. I had tires replaced there with no problems.

MorTech 06-14-2024 11:30 PM

Never. Ever. NeverEver use a franchise automobile shop where there are 1000 useless eaters at Corporate HQ to feed. Just use Wildwood Tire or Walmart is generally OK.

RICH1 06-15-2024 05:29 AM

DONT DO IT! You will be posting a unsettling story about you you were ripped off... Don't cheap out on your automobiles service.... Have a real mechanic perform the repairs....

Northerner52 06-15-2024 07:40 AM

Costco is best, Sams. Its worth the price of membership

What I need is my fluids changed, transfer case fluid and differential fluids.
Any experience you have had with that kind of service?

Wildwood Tire, Firestone, or Michael's Automotive. But, any good mechanic can do it. Personally, I never change any fluids, except motor oil.

I drive a hybrid so for fluid change transmission, coolant both engine and inverter coolant Toyota is about same price and has correct fluids, engine oil and filter change along with tire rotation Walmart is fine. If you are a Veteran Take 5 oil change provides a discount location are 441 Summerfield and Rt27 Leesburg.

Topspinmo 06-15-2024 03:42 PM

After my experience with couple dealers I just change my own oil, brake fluid, transmission fluid, coolant and even the window washer water. Just cause you go to recommended business don’t mean they do it right, you must follow up. They have to earn my trust.

I took my car to a dealer down here when under warranty and they couldn’t even change oil correctly. After that feasco I just change it myself.

Sounds like he has all wheel drive or 4 wheel drive. More to fail than simple front wheel drive car.

ColtsFan 06-16-2024 05:27 AM

We have been having good luck with Mavis. Very professional and clean bays. They are located West of Culver's on 466-A.

I agree. But, I had a 13-year old AWD Mercury Mariner that I traded in for my current vehicle. It ran fine and I never changed any fluids except motor oil. Although, it did only have 80K miles.

DONNIEBRONX 06-16-2024 06:22 AM

I go to tire kingdom on 441 across from Miller ale house and recommend them

I’ve used them. I was pleased. They have a high reputation in the area for best prices and service.

Mechanical Ripoffs

Tire Choice is probably the worst choice in this area. If your car stops running in front of their locations, call a tow truck!

Sounds like you own a truck. If so, check out Southern Diesel and auto repair in Lake Panasoffskee??

Stu from NYC 06-16-2024 08:03 AM

In Va dealt with a chain called Merchants Tire for many years. Found them to be very honest.

They were bought out by Tire Kingdom and suddenly they were pushing all kinds of services and additives. Within a year we went elsewhere and will probably never deal with a chain again.

Sumter Tire has been a good choice for us

retiredguy123 06-16-2024 08:12 AM

Apparently, Tire Kingdom has more than 700 stores. Why would a company that large be satisfied to have an "F" rating with the BBB, and hundreds of customer complaints that were not properly resolved? Who would want to buy a franchise from them? Very strange.

In reviewing the BBB website, Tire Kingdom and Mavis appear to be the same company. Same rating and same number of complaints.

Scott with Kraken Automotive has a local shop. AND he is a mobile mechanic. Has done great work on my 2010 silverado.

Re Tire Kingdom

It never ceases to amaze me, you ask a question about a specific company, and people are more than willing to recommend other companies but very few answer the question. Having read all these replies are you any wiser, well now you have a plethora of auto mechanics to choose from so I guess you'll have to take them one by one and ask the same question. maybe when you ask that question someone will recommend tire kingdom.

Did you read Post No. 2? Would you do business with a company that has an "F" rating with the BBB and hundreds of complaints? I wouldn't.

If you come here at all you will realize answers go beyond what the OP has asked often with good info

Great experience at Tire Kingdom in Oxfored, FL

In Dec 2023, I compared online reviews and found that Tire Kingdom (11824 N US 301Oxford FL) has a 4.8/50 5-star rating on Google (the BBB rating is worthless because you cannot focus on the Oxford location). The Google customer reviews start out with statements such as "Absolutely stellar customer service here at this shop." , and "Tire Kingdom, Oxford, Florida did a phenomenal job."
I got a good price on 4 Michelin Primacy MXM4 tires, an oil change, and 5-year alignment package. No issues, no up-selling, no surprises. Just good service. In fact, while I was in the waiting area, I observed several of the employees going out of their way to assist other workers / customers instead of just lingering at the service counter.

Google reviews are fake and totally worthless. The Tire Kingdom website has 282 Google reviews and almost every one is 5 stars, yet they have an "F" rating from BBB with hundreds of complaints. Some companies have thousands of 5-star Google reviews listed on their website. Yelp reviews are better, but BBB posts real complaints about a company, including the response from the business and how the complaint was handled. Some companies post fake Google reviews that all sound alike, and you cannot identify the reviewers as to their name and location. You cannot trust the Google review system to provide any useful information. You are correct that you cannot isolate reviews from the Oxford Tire Kingdom store, but the overall company definitely has customer issues.

You want a job writing reviews for my new restaurant? Ten bucks for each one you give 5 stars. Anything less and we will have to let you go.

MorTech 06-16-2024 10:52 PM

Franchise automotive joints are almost always just a den of thieves stealing for their corporate masters. Find a local business who actually cares about customer satisfaction/their reputation for longevity...and it also keeps your money in the local economy.

Sorry to post this when you asked about another business, but just had 4 tires put on at B.J.'s tire center (behind United Southern Bank on OBT. I was hesitant as have always used Boulevard Tire and found them to be completely honest and never in over 30 years and various employees, has anyone tried to sell us anything except what we specified. However, decided last week to use our B.J.'s membership for a new set of four. We definitely knew the exact brand and model we wanted, only took 6 days to get a very specific set, and the service to put them on was truly exceptional. No extra charges of any kind for alignment, balancing, or the whole usual list of "upcharge" items. Life time free rotation, balancing, etc. no matter how many times you go, no charge to members. Installation is usually at least an $80 charge, yet we actually paid less for the tires we specified than pricing the set at two other area tire centers. Probably worth the $25 membership for the tire service alone !

Nor would I. Yes I read post #2, one of the few that answered the question directly. In my post I said "but very few answer the question.". You twice, #3 and #17, #18, #19 & #31 did in fact answer the question and are to be congratulated. #35 gets an honorable mention.

PugMom 06-17-2024 07:46 AM

my daughter used them one time for tires & minor repair-no complaints, tires still good
