Wow, This is one heck of a Cruise

All-out brawl on Carnival cruise caught on viral video: ‘Got out of hand very, very quickly’

Stu from NYC 07-04-2024 12:21 PM

Very lucky that our family cruise was last week.

We have liked Carnival for many years but clientele last week was a bit rough. Too many people thought they owned the ship.

Cheaper is usually not better.

Covid is taking quite a few folks into the realm of former cruisers

In the past when I wore a younger mans clothes they put out a pretty good product for the money.

As we have gotten older our tastes have changed and mostly sail on a more upscale cruise line.

However our grandkids really enjoyed Camp Carnival so overall glad we went with Carnival for this cruise.

This Mayhem has nothing to do with the Cruise Line.

I don't know about that... Carnival seems to have a disproportional share of this type of problem...

They do have a good deal of security on the ship. On last weeks cruise a passenger seemed to have flipped out, decided he was attacked by bed bugs and wanted to fight everyone. He was soon surrounded by about 10 security guys and hauled off to the ships jail.

Of course it does. They don't call it "Walmart of the Seas" for nothing. The clientele on Carnival is more likely to act in, umm, a less civilized manner.

Michael 61 07-04-2024 08:07 PM

I cruised Carnival for years and years in my 20s/30s/40s. I stopped cruising Carnival about ten years ago - it was a combination of me “outgrowing” that line, and seeing more and more “riff raff” cruising, attracted by their low fares. I’ve been much happier this past decade cruising Holland America and Celebrity.

Indydealmaker 07-05-2024 05:11 AM

Remember when women were raised to be ladies rather than thugs?

rsmurano 07-05-2024 06:17 AM

Carnival is the bottom of the barrel of cruise lines. They cater to the younger crowd with their older ships.
But you can get a jack&@$ on any cruise, plane that thinks they own the place. I hope these clowns get years of jail time.

Yes it does when you offer a cheap cruise and the morons can then afford to board

BlackHarley 07-05-2024 06:30 AM

Cannibal cruise lines!

It is still true in life that most of the time you get what you pay for. In this case,
Low price=Low class

Kids birthday at Chuck E Cheese, shopping malls, airplanes, funerals, weddings, casinos. The location really doesn't seem to matter.

coleprice 07-05-2024 07:08 AM

My wife and I took a CARNIVAL Cruise in mid-January 2024 and found that all of the Crew and Guests pleasant. Everyone just had a good time on the ship and ashore at the private Keys that have nice beaches and serve food. Conflicts can arise anywhere . . . It just takes a few bad apples.

Today’s world

This is today’s society. You see these kinds of clips at Disney, cruises, sporting events, everywhere. And we have people around justifying it. The world use to be a better place. Doesn’t take a rocket scientist to figure it out. I’m glad I’m old.

Yes I do remember. The women on this video were (I can't say it).

They don't call it "Carnival" for nothing....

Being in a lower social economic status doesn't make a person a moron. There are plenty of people behaving like morons right here in The Villages!
We only cruised on Carnival once since the lower prices meant it was more affordable to young
families and there were too many kids on board for our liking.

Yes, indeed! Social graces were the norm rather than the exception!
We had the blessings of the nuclear family intact where we were taught the difference between right and wrong, we were punished by our parents sometimes and we learned from making those mistakes, not to do it again.
We knew not to do anything to bring dishonor to our family.

It is all lost in the new world order now.
100% Breakdown of the Family.

Typical racist New York Post video. Pathetic publication, if only Alexander Hamilton could see what happened to his paper.

It's racist to publish a video of a dangerous brawl if it's black people committing the crime?
That, in itself, is a very racist comment.

Yup. It was the same time that men were raised to treat women with respect at all times, work 40 hours a week in solid jobs that provided food, clothing, a fine middle-class home, a car, college fund for all the kids, and twice-yearly vacations for the entire family while mom stayed home and folded the laundry.

In the past Carnival was not like this.

IMHO when they sold the drinking package and said you can have 15 drinks a day, and people wanted what they paid for, this sort of behavior started in ernest.

2newyorkers 07-05-2024 08:31 AM

When I hear all of you complain about the next generations all I can think is that you must have pretty rotten children and grandchildren. I am happy and blessed that mine are pretty wonderful.

Daddymac 07-05-2024 08:51 AM

I would have never guessed who was fighting……

nova1968 07-05-2024 09:16 AM

It sounds like you’re suggesting that Carnival Cruise Line may not be the best fit for the older residents of The Villages, a large retirement community. This could be due to the type of activities, atmosphere, or amenities offered by Carnival that may not align with the preferences or needs of seniors.

They should have rounded up all those in the fight and made them -- WALK THE PLANK. Guarantee that they wouldn't fight no mo'.

How is it racist? The camera just shows what was going on.

The Department of Transportation (DOT) cruise crime statistics, mandated by the 2010 Cruise Vessel Security and Safety Act, continue to show that Carnival Cruise Line remains by far the most likely cruise line to experience physical and sexual violence at sea.

Many other cruise lines don't even limit the # of drinks you can have per day, so it's definitely not that!

Cliff Fr 07-05-2024 11:44 AM

Where were the parents of these teens?

Runway48 07-05-2024 11:54 AM

We cruise once or twice a year. Several years ago, we and another couple took a Carnival cruise from NYC to Newfoundland. We had heard about the potential downside of Carnival but the itinerary worked for us. The cruise was okay, but this was the only time I've ever caught norovirus on a cruise. We made dinner time acquaintances with another group of travelers of a similar age. One of them also came down with the virus. There was an element on this ship which stood out as being louder and more self-absorbed than most others as the night went on and that's saying something on a cruise. I didn't see any brawls, but I would not have been surprised to have heard of one if it happened. I doubt that we cruise Carnival again.
