Great.

Go another one for ya. Young Nicholas Brothers>>> Start at :36.

Yes, that's Eddie Cantor in black face. That's the way it was back then but......The Nicholas Brothers are flawless in this and they are kids, especially little Harold.

this put a smile on my face! Thanks!!

johnsi911 07-17-2024 08:08 AM

Yeah, I watched Joe Biden doing that in a recent news video when everyone else in the video was clapping and moving to the music. His hands and feet maybe moved a 1/4".

You can say that about "the other guy" but you can't say it about any of "The Protected Class." You know how the world works these days. Slanted.

Now with your post we can expect this thread to get locked in 4...3...2...

Thanks! Great Video!

It was great seeing people like Fred Astaire, Ginger Rogers, Gene Kelly, Judy Garland, and the others dancing. And Singin' in the Rain is one of my all time favorite films. That is when movies were movies.

PugMom 07-17-2024 09:29 AM

thank you so much, that video is priceless! am going to have that song & images stuck in my head today. I'm sharing for sure :clap2::1rotfl:

Sometimes people forget that James Cagney was a hoofer. This cagney bit is a favorite of mine.

Great OP video, very clever. I'm a big TCM fan, recognized most of the clips.

Thank you Ecuadog. I didn't realize my link didn't work. I don't know why that happened. Nice you found a video that jumps right to the beginning of the dance with the brothers. GREAT!

This video is from 2012 but they still dance together recently...........

I'm a huge fan of the old musical movies; "Singin' in the Rain" is my of my all time favorites. Thank goodness for YouTube so these famous clips can be enjoyed anytime.

You missed one, the lady with the legs that went up to her Adams Apple was Cyd Charisse, a former ballet dancer from the Ballet Russe.

This is one of my favorite Cyd Charisse numbers, The Red Blues from "Silk Stockings". She is one hellova dancer.

Skip to 3:04 for the beginning of the dancing.

Equadog, I tried to cue up the video but it still started from the beginning. Not sure what I did wrong because I know I have cued the video to share before and it did work properly. Not this time though. ????

I've had the Uptown Funk video bookmarked on my computer for at least two years. I watch it every once in a while when I want to smile.

coffeebean 07-17-2024 05:13 PM

Here is another gem from The Nicholas Brothers when they were kids. Such talent........

https://youtu.be/7IBteauWsHA?si=ypSNGNyO_kFQXkZz

EDIT: Actually, they weren't "kids". Harold was 15 years old and Fayard was 22.

Thank you for the videos. Jack Stanford looks very similar to Stan Laurel to me.
