Red Lobster building

driving by the old red lobster restaurant today saw some activity going on and the FMK trailer parked in the lot. Anyone care to speculate what restaurant is going in there?

New Englander 08-15-2024 03:30 PM

Ya, an old NYC style Deli. Like The Carnegie Deli was.

Stu from NYC 08-15-2024 03:36 PM

Greek restaurant?

thelegges 08-15-2024 04:31 PM

Think if it’s a FMK truck, the restaurant will have a menu with a familiar offering that we have all had before.

That location would be a change for the FMK business model of locations either at town squares or Championship Golf Courses. It would be nice if they were planning something the Villages is desperately short of, a good quality restaurant with consistent food and service, that isn’t at a high end price point.

Just a guess that FMK might be purchasing some equipment?

Lottoguy 08-16-2024 08:38 AM

I'm hoping Portillo's will move in there instead of their current decision to build on 441.

Hooters #2,

sorry couldn't resist.....

Topspinmo 08-16-2024 09:57 AM

I’m hoping for Schlotzsky’s or County Line Barbecue… or ABELINOS…

They must be connected with the Morse family. They are taking over all the restaurants.

Oh yeah, I haven't had that since I left Dallas.

How about a Donatos pizza, yum.

I haven't been to NYC nor a NYC style deli. What makes a good NY deli? What sort of food do they have and specialize in?

Really good corned beef and pastrami. Good sour pickles, knishes, chicken soup and quite a bit more.

The authentic ones....lock jaw is a automatic, given the portion size!

That is why we really like Harolds. Comes with pickle bar complete with rye bread so we can make a sandwich that fits in our mouth.

About every 7 weeks friend flies in from NYC. Shops at our favorite deli and bonus his mom sends a brisket, and matzoh balls for soup. Packs it in his carry on, for a few days of food coma. Just the loaf of crusty bread, is to die for.
