Getting Pepsi bundled bottles at Walmart that seems collapsed/deflated or vacuumed sucking bottle in? This has happened three times in last month. I don’t trust this and throw them in trash. Ok, if don’t shop at Walmart and don’t drink Pepsi this probably don’t concern you. :welcome:

If they aren't like that when you buy them but, become that way after having them at home - where are you storing them?

If in a high temperature area, like a garage or shed, that is likely affecting the plastic. Also, plastics in high heat can leach into beverage bottles - not a good thing.

Or if you keep them in the fridge but, Walmart had them stored in a hot area, that significant temperature shift could be causing that to happen.

No, came that way. Weird only 1 bottle out of pack? Never happened before storing them same?

Are you talking about the 12-pack bottles? I've had that experience with a case of spring water, where one bottle in the middle of the case was empty and flattened. Oddly enough there was the right number of FULL bottles in the case, so this was an extra, empty, flattened bottle that slipped in during the packaging process somehow.

As for your Pepsi situation, no I haven't experienced it. I also buy those at Walmart every couple of weeks. $6.98 for 12 bottles of Pepsi is a great deal and hubby loves his Pepsi. But if you do experience it, find the receipt, and just bring in the bottle. They'll probably let you take a cold one from their fridge in exchange.

You can also write to Pepsi to complain, and they might even send you a coupon good for a whole case to apologize. Some companies do that.

The plastic bottles are made cheap for most all beverages today. You could take a bad bottle back but would it be worth your time and effort? To each his/her own.

Yes,12 pack bottles. Had 3 in last shopping. I opened it no fess, and flatter than pancake. Poured it out taste was hideous.

Exactly. Geez. It’s only one bottle of soda. And some people are suggesting to write to the company? Really??? Obviously they have a lot of time on their hands

It's a sign of either cutting costs at mfg plant, less maintenance or lower quality/cheaper packaging, AND/OR slower inventory turns due to higher prices for sugared water. . .ie, old inventory, damaged from transportation, etc.

consumer food industry has many tricks to cover up / sell old inventory, such as hiding old units within large packages of many good units. . seen it with old crusty bread in a bag of new soft bread, etc. . . poor local pricing with poor shelf rotation by stock peeps, can create old inventory, etc.

The only thing you have to worry about is flat Pepsi. Soda is so acidic it dissolves meat.

Probably a bad seal and the bottle lost carbonation. I have a keg and using carb caps can recarbonate them. If the diet stuff the sweetener loses it sweetness over time.

I know this is a very important topic and a world concern - maybe it is time to have a senate commission investigate this situation - or maybe stop drinking soda/pop - I guess I will.

Back when traveling alot, used to buy soda and water and other things in plastic bottles. Often we would notice items purchased in higher altitudes would "crush" slightly when brought to lower altitudes. Possibly the air pressure at the time of bottling was less inside due to location of the bottling. Just a guess. But we never had an issue with the product.

I just found ONE can of Coke that had NO carbonation in it, out of a 12 pack box. Can looked normal and the rest of the Cokes were fine. I noticed no damage to the can, other than it being light in weight.

Mushy soda bottles indicate the contents have lost carbonation. In other words, it’s flat. It could be a number of issues like a misfit cap or hiccup during the filling process.
I am certain Walmart will accept a return or exchange and they will address it with PepsiCo.

Time to switch to Coke, my friend. Whenever I need to quench my thirst, I turn to an ice cold Coca Cola!! Much better than flat Pepsi!

Cap was tight and sealed. I suspect it was processing problem. No big deal one out of pack, but it’s recurring? So far I gotten 3 out of two packs of 12? I will be looking close from now on when I select Pepsi bottled.

I like soda fountain coke not some much in can or bottle, seems more slurpy or sweeter? I can’t drink Dr. Pepper anymore ever since changed formula? I liked 10 2 4 formula. I don’t like any in big bottles like 72 Oz, it always goes flat before I drink it. I only drink 1 bottle day if that, my wife goes through rest pretty quick :shrug:

Disagree! Company management actually appreciates the off site Quality Control offered by consumers. Too many employees have that “it’s just a job” or “not my job” attitude about work. In other words a poor work ethic. I wrote to a company about poor engineering of a product and they wrote back to thank me. No “coupon” was necessary. I believe that might also be part of the m a g a message. Be proud of your workmanship

if you notice it only after it cooled in the refrigerator than the can was short on soda. the cold collapses the can when the soda shrinks.
