hmmmm

geez, the owners should never sell, just think about the taxes owed!

OrangeBlossomBaby 08-30-2024 10:32 AM

I'm amazed they can even get insurance for it.

Stu from NYC 08-30-2024 10:44 AM

Would you believe they outbid me by just a little bit for this.

Dusty_Star 08-30-2024 11:23 AM

The article says the buyers are second generation Boca Granders so I presume that means they know all about hurricanes, insurance, & whatnot.

:a20: Sure ..... but do they know as much as some of the posters on TOTV? Some here think they are MUCH smarter than these Billionaires.

 I agree. After all it is the only house on the U.S. coastline. Actually I don't think you will ever have this problem to worry about. :1rotfl:

How long is the U.S. shoreline?

Glad to hear you have $21M to make such decisions.

It’s a lovely home, though I wouldn’t want to live there. More than fifty photos here:

I’m heading over there today to hit ‘em up for a termite contract and some water filtration units.

JanRoberts 08-31-2024 08:15 AM

Hahahaha!!

Nana2Teddy 08-31-2024 08:15 AM

Wait! The Villages isn’t good enough for them? I thought they all lived here amongst us. HaHa! Just kidding. I would think billionaires need to own as much investment property as possible for tax shelters. They likely own far more than just this place. They’ve earned it all, so I hope they take time to enjoy it all.

You’re right even if I was billionaire I wouldn’t buy it.

I have enough money to satisfy me, greed don’t run my lifestyle.

Villager24 08-31-2024 09:18 AM

Good for them. They’ve earned it. Enjoy.

tophcfa 08-31-2024 09:25 AM

Nice digs. If I had that kind of coin to drop on a place in a hurricane target zone by the ocean it would be in St. John, USVI. Wondering if she can commute to the new home via chopper and land on the flat rooftop?

Velvet 08-31-2024 10:04 AM

It would not be my first choice in water front properties (if I had that kind of money), but it is not that far from TV.

Absolutely. The family has worked hard, and put their capital at risk, and it paid off. Too many people look at those that are successful and think that it just fell in their lap. For all that you see that are this successful, there are 100 that tried, didn't make it or barely made it.

I think it might not be the original saying, but it goes something like "Want to build a million dollar real estate portfolio? Start with one that cost a billion dollars". There are investors in San Francisco right now that would love to get half of their investment back.

I assume you know where that 21 million came from.
That's not a bad return for someone who did Villages commercials, right?
The Morse offspring (and there are more and more of them all the time), need to be kept in the fashion to which they have become accustomed!

I used to live near there in a area called Rotonda west. Went to Boca grand many times. The beaches are fantastic. The Bush family also have a place there and nearby is a tiny private air strip. We moved because taxes and h/o ins became unbearable.
With their kind of coin i doubt that matters to them.

Wealthy people self-insure. They can afford to take the risk.

Not my cup of tea for a water-front property either but it does look very well-built & it certainly will be an easy getaway location from TV. I enjoy seeing people achieve their dreams. Life is far too short for us all. Good for them. I hope they enjoy many beautiful sunsets into the water-filled horizon with their loved ones.

Stu from NYC 09-01-2024 06:29 PM

Wonder if they would sell me a small piece of their beach?

Bonanza 09-02-2024 12:21 AM

She's Right at Home There!

I wouldn't buy it either but I'm sure Jennifer Parr will feel right at home there.
Judging from the photo, it appears that her new house is about 15-20 feet from her next-door neighbors -- just like most of what is built in TV!
