Reagan Movie

I would like to see the new Reagan movie, but they would need to pay me to go to a movie theater. Why can't they just sell me a digital copy of the movie for $25?

Few people would pay $ 25 to see a movie. Most of the time we find people are polite but every once in a while ____.

JRcorvette 08-30-2024 08:43 PM

Any idea what the movie theaters are charging these days??? $12??? Or more?

Old Mill Playhouse charges $9.10 for residents of the Villages for regular screenings. You need to have your Villages' ID. This price includes the tax. The sign says $8.50.

These prices are a lot cheaper than most places in the US.

That is what happens when actors get paid exorbitant amounts

And the actors are just worker bees.

Not many worker bees get paid that much

Told through the voice of former KGB Agent Victor Petrovich, whose life became inextricably linked with Ronald Reagan’s when Reagan first bought the Soviets attention as an actor in Hollywood. Will it be historically accurate or?

Is your statement historically accurate? "inextricably linked"

phylt 08-31-2024 09:16 AM

We plan to see it. It's at Epic/Lake Sumter and Leesburg AMC.

This would be the first time going out to a movie in YEARS....

Amonke 09-01-2024 05:40 AM

Good movie, good value
Bio pic
Inspiring, emotional at times
Saw at Epic/Lake Sumter

The DVD will be in the library within days of it being released. Lake County has the best library system, followed by Sumter County and last, and certainly least, Marion County. I have cards from all three county systems. I live in Marion and the other systems gave me a free card since I had a Marion County card. Marion County only has DVDs based on books was what the staff told me when I asked why they had such a limited selection of DVDs.

$8.50 here in Burlington NC for matinee!

cphubbell@aol.com 09-01-2024 06:30 AM

Amc 12

Go to the AMC 12 in Leesburg. The matinee at a senior discount offers with captions in one theater and without in another. You choose your seat at the time you order the tickets.

You can order on line and use the digital code on your phone to enter.

AMC does offer a membership that then does not charge the convenience fee each time you purchase tickets

ron32162 09-01-2024 07:14 AM

Its called bootlegging, within minutes of selling the first copy millions are lost in revenue.

We find the Old Mill theater to be quite enjoyable.

airstreamingypsy 09-01-2024 07:42 AM

Be patient, it'll be streaming before you know it.

Not sure the point. Freedom of choice. Not a problem at all. Just figure the film was not made.

I think you should check again. Fandango only lists new Reagan movie as being in theaters.

That was the exact wording used in the movie’s IMBD narrative too. Apparently that’s from the movie’s producers.

I love biographical pics anyway but FakeBook censors gave me a great reason to pay for it!

It’s hard to be that patient sometimes. Lately, the movies I've waited to watch are exclusive to one App like only to Netflix or Apple TV, of Prime Video. That means I waited until it was out of theaters only to have to wait some more because it’s being held for ransom by one streaming service. By the time it finally gets to a platform where I can see it, I’ve forgotten about it or my desire to see it has passed. I won’t switch on/off platforms just to watch one movie.

RUCdaze 09-01-2024 05:22 PM

I love going to a movie theater. Nothing beats the experience of viewing a film in the dark on a large screen. The atmosphere is something special, and brings back memories of yesteryear.

OrangeBlossomBaby 09-01-2024 05:30 PM

Give it six months - it'll be available for purchase digitally, and six months after that you'll be able to rent it on Amazon Prime Video for $9.99

The point is that I would rather pay $25 to watch the movie at home than to watch it for free in a crowded theater. Watching a movie is not a social event, especially when rude and inconsiderate people think that their talking or cell phone usage is somehow more important than my enjoyment of the movie.

Watching movies at home spoiled me. I love being able to nod off or take an intermission whenever I want because I can rewind or start over whenever I want. I also prefer having homemade refreshments & sitting in my recliner while petting my little dog. The only movies worth going to a theater for would be ones with extremely good visual effects like Titanic or Star Wars. Can’t beat a giant screen with booming sound for those. I will watch Reagan when I can because it’s a biographical film but I’ve been been disappointed by Hollywood for many years. And I quit watching TV series’ in 1990 as soon as my son was old enough to show me the world thru his eyes.

I second your emotion. But if they released films directly to streaming at the same time as they release them to theaters, almost no one would go to theaters. This way, we have the choice. Choice is better even though waiting is hard.

I agree. But, the only thing the movie theater offers that cannot always be duplicated at home is the screen size. Everything else is inferior to a good home theater system. Their sound systems are usually substandard and too loud.

If it does well at the box office, it won't be available for free on any legal streaming service for a long time. They milk individual purchases and rentals as long as the market will bear, before they offer it free.

manaboutown 09-01-2024 10:14 PM

All I can add is it is among the one in a thousand movies made in recent years I would pay to watch. Most recent movies I would not watch if paid $500/hr to do so.

Exactly. I see so much complaining about the movie theaters closing… but people don’t go anymore! Yet they still blame the Developer.

Cant stand the popcorn smell, or the munching and slurping of the watchers, who think they may die of starvation during the two hours the films run.
Same with the noise of continuous cell phones.
Would it hurt to turn the damned things off for the film's duration?

Very true

Taltarzac725 09-02-2024 09:24 AM

I saw Reagan speak at the University of Nevada, Reno on October 7, 1982. He was on the Quad with a few thousand in the audience. Very good speaker who could complete a sentence and deliver it with passion and humor. There is a video of some of it. Google the date along with UNR and Reagan.
