Shallow Creek-Golf Cart Accessible?

Is Shallow Creek golf cart accessible from north of 466A?

If so, how long of a ride is it from LSL? Or from any other specific neighborhoods.

It is. I live near Brownwood and guess it’s a 50 minute golf cart ride from there. It take me about 25-30 minutes to get to Southern Oaks, and I guess Shallow Creek is another 20 minutes from there.

I'm 21 minutes from LSL and 44 min. from Shallow Creek. It's about 2 minutes from off of BV to my house, so I'd say just about 1 hour, going over Brownwood bridge. It will be about 10 min. shorter once the Marsh Bend MMP is open all the way to Central Pkwy. For anyone on the east side of TV, it's shorter to go down Morse MMP to Meggison and over the Bexley bridge.

ROCKETMAN 09-12-2024 08:24 AM

From Sumter 1 hour by the villages gps.

Laker14 09-12-2024 10:42 AM

thanks for the responses. My TV home (I'm not there yet) is in Poinciana, near Sea Breeze, and to get to Southern Oaks I go over to Morse and take Morse MMP to Meggison. That trip takes a good 45 minutes. I'm usually a tad stiff after that haul.

Another 20 minutes won't be pretty.

Would that still be the way to go to get to Shallow Creek, or would I take the BV MMP?

It might be a bit more direct to go through Brownwood and cross the two bridges on the west side. Then east along the turnpike, past Everglades, and then east on Corbin trail into the new area. Left on McNeil. You will go to the south end of the Bexley Bridge because many roads down there are still closed. More direct route coming in the future.

OK, you're about 10 min. closer to Shallow Creek than you would be from LSL. Takes me 11 min. to north side of Seabreeze, subtract 2 from my house to BV MMP so you should be making it to Shallow Creek in about 53 min, maybe 10 min less once Marsh Bend MMP is open all the way.

Doc, just curious. Wouldn’t it be just as quick, or faster, to cut across Pinellas or Hillsborough and take Morse south?

Not for me, since I'm only about 3 blocks off BV. For my friend at the other end of Hillsborough 1 block off Morse he goes that way. From Seabreeze it's probably about 4 minutes shorter to go Brownwood to Water Lily bridge.

I was just looking at Google Maps (bicycle) & from your area (somewhere northwest, I think) & it's a toss up. Crossing to Morse is 1 mile shorter, from Briar Meadow (I don't thing you are there, but close enough for comparison), than staying on BV. Try it & let us know. I mean crossing west to east far earlier than Pinellas or Hillsborough, cross as soon as you can.

I think the OP stated he lived in Poinciana, near Seabreeze. That's about 8+ miles further south than Briar Meadow, not a good comparison at all. From as far northwest as Briar Meadow, the ability to come down BV and cut over on Stillwater to Morse may or may not be quicker, but from there you are talking about a 1 1/2 hour art ride.

But Tophchfa asked for advice & I believe I was resonding to him. He is not the original poster. He (I think, is way north & west of SeaBreeze), he is not Laker, he does not live in Poinciana. I was trying to help.

It would take about an hour. Beautiful course and it’s used for the Villages High School for their competitions. It’s possible to follow the team around the course during their games.

Justputt 09-13-2024 06:41 AM

Only 2 carts per foursome. Drive your car and ride in someone else's cart :)

NoMo50 09-13-2024 06:47 AM

Not really sure it's worth the trip. The course itself is rather uninteresting, and there is no shade at all anywhere on the course. Plus, along with Southern Oaks, it is the most expensive championship course to play. Doubt we'll be going back any time soon.

Jimmay 09-13-2024 07:20 AM

Yes it is accessible and the drive will be about one hour

HORNET 09-13-2024 01:29 PM

What’s it matter, aren’t we retired!

True, but that’s a 6 or 6.5 hour day.

Marathon Man 09-14-2024 07:27 AM

It saw the other day that they were completing the MMP along Marsh Bend. Don't know when it will be open, but that will save maybe ten minutes when on the west side.

Live in Spanish Springs and we can get to Mission Inn faster. These new courses are too far away

Agree, but only if round takes 4 - 4.5 hours. A lot of walking lately due to cart path only areas
