Tracy Performing Arts Center (RIP OFF)

So, I purchased (4) tickets for The Classic Albums Live concert on November 23 at the Tracy for $95 each. Now the Tracy is giving tickets away for free to this show and many others?? This is a slap in the face to all of us who have frequented all the Village venues for shows and concerts. The other venues have always allowed you to return your tickets for a small administrative fee, and receive a credit toward a future event. The Tracy does not? If this is the Village’s way of promoting their new Art center they surely missed the mark!!

Don’t really think ‘they’ care. The ‘Tracy’ is part of the Charter HS. For all intent and purpose, it’s for the kids. Anything over and above that....as they say....is gravy!

OP I thought it was four tickets they were giving away, on the radio, how many were free

lakepenny 09-29-2024 09:35 AM

As many as you would like ,at a lot of different shows

lakepenny 09-29-2024 09:37 AM

The village’s blues Club has all the shows and where to go for free tickets

Not sure where you found this out. But no free tickets to shows here. Give us a break!

They should say "unwilling" not "unable".

Using "unable" is one example of a classic "hands tied" conflict strategy. It is used to make it useless to argue with the representative. Other variations, "company policy", etc.

So, grammatically, you are correct. Strategically, they know what they are doing.

retiredguy123 09-29-2024 02:12 PM

Another one I hate is "thank you for your patience". How can they thank me for something I don't have?

How about just being honest? The representative should say, "We can give you a refund, but we won't because we don't want to. We want to keep your money." Personally, I would rather they say that.

They would be stealing that narrative from the IRS....no?!:1rotfl:

Time for this to be cleaned up by OP.
- where are all theses tickets being given away?
- the blues site has no info about Tracy free tickets?

You go through Pearly Gates to get into the Villages? I never really noticed that.

An observation, not a complaint.

So, I was at the Tracy yesterday. They aren’t giving away free tickets but they are giving 50% off for a short time. Go to any ticket office and they will refund half your $95 per ticket. To purchase more tickets at half price, I recall they said to use the code “showtime”.
By the way, Blonde Ambition was awesome there yesterday!

The facts!
So,
- no one getting cheated
- accusation of greed was false
- on and on………..

Just got a free ticket.

Depends on how look at it? Some it’s observation and most it complaining. See how I look at it:p

So they can’t get enough to show up and figure half better than nothing.

It’s amazing what the word ‘free’ sets off on the fellowship here!

The Tracy is arguably, a state of the art facility. $95..... even for acts that are on the ‘back nine’ of their careers...is fair and appropriate for the venue, the production value and the overall experience.

The ninth caller on TV Morning Zoo wins free tickets to...oh, never mind!:1rotfl:

Sandy and Ed 09-30-2024 08:11 AM

So we bought The Fifth Dimension tickets for November 9th (2 for $123). Our first time at that venue. WOW is that a long ways off. Feel sorry for the kids/parents having to drive them there and back each day. Understand no bus service. Anyway we hope it will be worth the trip to attend at this venue. Rumor has it that the acoustics suck.

Sorry. I know this is outside the OP subject but, what the heck I too needed to say something.

You will come back and confirm or deny that rumor?
BTW, rumor has it

We went to the Tracey last night for the free, invitation only, ticketed event. They were selling all their show tickets for 50% off. I went to the box office & they gave me a credit on my account for 50% of the value of pre-purchased tickets.
Try again.

Huh? I'm confused. You had free tickets, but they gave you a refund anyway?

Love Classic Albums Live but $95 for a knock off band. Admit that they do have more musicians than the actual bands that they imitate. Thanks for the heads up. A lot more other places we can go and not have to drive "way down south"
