Villages' flooding from Milton.

I recall various golf cart tunnels flooded the last time we had a serious storm here.

Sure would like to know ahead of going out when Milton leaves which golf cart tunnels as well as paths are impassible due to water. And trees blocking roads might be of interest. I recall a power line down and out in the street a few storms ago on a street off CR472.

I had to turn around so as not to get electrocuted as did all the other people in various types of vehicles.

Havana gets flooded.

Pinellas gets flooded.

asianthree 10-09-2024 12:39 PM

No worries there will be pics of golf cart in the tunnel because it didn’t look that deep:a20:.

More than likely.

Taltarzac725 10-09-2024 12:43 PM

I recall I could not get to Southern Trace Shopping Center as the tunnel under CR466 was under water. Or maybe it was another one in that area. I did have to turn around and go by car.

Tunnel under Meggison

The tunnel that runs under Meggison prior to the golf cart round about for the WaterLilly bridge floods.

Also, Burnsed Rec Center tunnel flooded with Debby.

Look carefully before you go into any tunnel.

tophcfa 10-09-2024 04:48 PM

The tunnel just south of 466 that goes under Morse just north of the bridge going into LSL is a notorious flooder. A permanent sump pump has been installed inside a box just across the cart path on the Lake Sumter side of the tunnel.

Did it flood with Debbie, we got over 10” hope the new pump helps that tunnel

Bill14564 10-09-2024 05:12 PM

Would be nice to know for curiosity sake, I suppose. If the storm passes the way it is currently predicted (predictions change and reality matters) then I'll likely be out tomorrow morning to check things out. It will be easy enough to not enter any tunnels with water.

A large branch from an oak tree had fallen on the power line.

Wasn’t there for Debbie. Was there for Irma and Ian and flooded both times. Irma was pretty bad.

All depends on how long it rains and how strong the winds are. You may know sometime Thursday afternoon.

Rwirish 10-10-2024 04:23 AM

Patience grasshopper.

bowlingal 10-10-2024 05:30 AM

Assume the tunnels are flooded. Take the car!

Bay Kid 10-10-2024 06:10 AM

Sumter Landing boardwalk is covered. Stay clear. Critters.

ThirdOfFive 10-10-2024 06:55 AM

WVLG advises no travel except for emergencies so that workers can get the debris cleaned up.

Bill14564 10-10-2024 06:58 AM

The two tunnels under Buena Vista between Hillsbourough and Pinellas are not flooded.

MMPs have palm fronds and other assorted debris but are passable.

I saw one branch in the road but that was all.

Or gators

Just read (online) to remain at home til cleaning up can happen and be reopened. Looky-loos will abound, I'm sure. It's not worth it if you can't proceed and have to turn around. The storm was fierce...we were here for Irma and in my opinion this one was worst. I also heard that the radio station is down...so I have the t.v. on for updates!

Have not seen or heard.

sdeikenberry 10-10-2024 09:34 AM

Went by the cart tunnel at 466 and Morse in my car. It appears the yellow “not working” alarm light is on so I suspect that tunnel is flooded.

maistocars 10-10-2024 09:45 AM

Play it safe and take the car. Any reason why you find a need to go out in GC today?

As of this morning they are saying only necessary travel until they can clear the areas.

Just assume that all of the tunnels are flooded until tomorrow

I wonder how Sawgrass did with all those sails...(the cameras appear to be down..) I know those who have Leesburg power lost power last night in that area...those of us with Duke did not. I found that interesting!

Camera seems to be working now. Sails that are visible look good.
