Another tropical circulation to form in the Caribbean ?

If you have been watching the news you may have caught some of the buzz on yet another potential tropical circulation forming in the Caribbean and moving into the Gulf. The NWS global model did a good job forming the circulations that became Helene and Milton at 10 days out. The current run has a low in the Caribbean at 5 days out and moves the circulation in to the Gulf at 8 days. This bears watching as the Gulf coast could be impacted starting the week of October 20.

Weather report at 8am today says most likely it will steer north into the Atlantic.

biker1 10-13-2024 08:34 AM

That’s the one in the Atlantic. I have been watching the modeled development of a potentially new circulation that could form in the Caribbean Sea.

Just what we need, new rather patterns pushing storms our way.

biker1 10-13-2024 02:29 PM

Yes, the novelty has worn off ;-). I look at the raw model results every 6 hours and will post if I see anything interesting. Let's hope you don't see any more posts from me.

I say this a few times a day when something out of my control happens. “It is what it is”. I will not allow myself to worry about matters until they are in my control.

I learned this a few years ago when seeing “Control Box” in a psychology article. It included things we CAN control in an inner box, and an example of so many things that we cannot around the perimeter. Too bad I learned this so late in my life.,,,

Yes, but you want to stay informed.

People have been saying that the government can control the weather. So maybe they will not allow the hurricane to be created this time.

Not per the NHC 2:00 PM advisory. That is usually what happens but this year has been different

It's called AL94

Another weird formation out of the usual path.

Just snow and Ice, cold for half the year, no thanks...

Taltarzac725 10-14-2024 08:09 AM

Minnesota does have tornadoes. I talked to a Villager who was near a very bad one in the Twin Cities area. Fridley 1965. She is on Talk of the Villages or was back when I visited with her at a dog park .

I once saw LBJ say "who controls the weather controls the world."

Lived in Minny most of my life. High taxes, horrendous mosquitoes, 30 below temps in January, and black ice. A beautiful state up north and great fishing but not worth the cost.

I also had to replace two roofs because of hail damage.

Hurricane season in Florida lasts until end of November.

Good. I don’t have to reschedule this weekend’s Pennecamp neighborhood garage sale again

biker1 10-14-2024 11:56 AM

The latest 15-day simulation has nothing cooking. You should be good to go. With the very warm waters of the Gulf, I take a look daily.
