Why do we want to live in The Villages?
Because it is warm here today, 23 degrees, with snow on the way Monday.
|
29F here in the "sunny" south (Eastern North Carolina).
Snowing....and a WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 10 PM EST :cus: |
Well, the sun is shining here in The Villages - 'cept it's a little nippy. Only 60 degrees.
|
I can see that....

Someone needs a HUG! Get your buns down here..... |
The sun is not shining here. Snowing, 3 degrees, wind chill -11.
Will be ther in October, and full time 2012. |

You have a bit of a mean streak.:coolsmiley: |
Because tomorrow night here it will be MINUS 5 degrees....and that is NOT the wind chill.
Because it hurts to breathe outside. Because all of the cars are gray with roadsalt that is making rust as we speak. Because it is so dry in our homes that when you kiss your wife your lips blow off from the static electricity in the air. Because you thank God daily for remote start because your car needs to run 20 minutes before you go anywhere. Because it is impossible to push a shopping cart through snow ruts. Because your furnace/boiler will not turn off now until April. This should be our last year, (read our last winter) here in NY. I'm bummed because I ran out of ice melt for our walks, and had to go buy another 50 lb can of it. 69 more days until I am back down there. Can't wait. Frank |
Temperature Rising
Having a hot flash. Temperature now 25. Hubby trying to get leaves out of the pond, I'm doing lesson plans. This is no way to spend a Saturday. Should be riding around in my golf cart. Looking forward to being a Village resident in June. We close on our home in Buttonwood in March.
|
Because it was -10 this morning and with the heat wave it is now 5 above.

We hit a low of -15 last night at our place here in central OH.......but fortunately, no wind. It's now a balmy 15 ABOVE and we've have had a good amount of sun all day which helps "take the edge off things". Yeah, right! :cus:
Will arrive in TV again in exactly 3 weeks for a short stint. Regardless of what the weather will be like there, it's GOT to be better than what we've all been having "up north"!! Bill :) |
I want to live in The Villages because it's gorgeous, mucho golf, dancing, swimming, lovely people and I can drive a golf cart everywhere.
Here in Los Angeles I fight the traffic, struggle to get a tee time, would not go to a public pool or drive a golf cart - death would be immanent. State taxs are 10% and rising. I don't even get a loaf of bread or a block of cheese. Our home in TV will be one story, have a non fenced yard without 24/7 security surveillance. Hey, it's dangerous here in LA and we are hyper-vigalante. We just want to survive long enough to get out of California and enjoy the many fruits of TV. Buttonwood here we come. Our home is on the market and as soon as it sells, we will be full time Frogs. Plus I played golf yesterday, a five hour round and it cost me $32.00 to walk a goat ranch compared to the gorgeous courses of TV. I wish they would stop advertising, I want The Villages to stay quaint and lovely. |
It was -7 in Sarver, Pa Hope to be tv.er in 2014

Allure Loop in Buttonwood-Here We Come
The Realtor came to list our Illinois home this morning. My husband and I can't wait to start our home on Allure Loop in Buttonwood. We also can't wait to meet all the fine folks who post here!
|
We can't wait to get to the Villages because it snows in Nov. and it doesn't melt till April.

Keep posting especially when you get to paradise. Best wishes. |
I want to live in TV because we live in the area of 3 cities listed "MOst Miserable Places to LIve" by Forbes Magazine. Things worse than weather going on here.....
|
Today I love to live in The Villages because I played golf with three delightful woman and afterward had lunch at Cane Garden Country Club and it cost me 12 dollars with tip...for the day.
The company was absolutely priceless. Thank you Pooh for the invitation. |
I want to live in the Villages because:
1) People are soooo friendly 2) There is an atmosphere of no worries 3) It is safe & secure 4) I love the great volunteerism activities..especially for our troops 5) I feel old here at home (at 58) but feel like a kid at TV! 6) Lifelong Learning College - I love to learn and keep learning! 7) Using Golf Carts for primary transportation is SWEET! |
I am looking out of my window and every day I see about 6 feet of snow that was shoveled off the roof where I work to keep it from collapsing. Winters stink!!!!!
I want to be in The Villages so I can wake-up in the morning, put on shorts, t-shirt, sneakers and party hardy with the myriad of places to go and things to do with people I know will be nice to be around. |

I also had a wonderful day in the Villages today with three very wonderful women. Thanks Pooh,Gracie and Dona. For all you future Villagers, you will never regret moving here. Eventually you will get "Spoiled" like us and complain when the temp is 55 and it's a little cloudy. I've been here for 5 years and sometimes it feels like I just got here. It is really beautiful and the people are even more beautiful.

I want to live in The Villages because even if you are 70 years old you can make new friends that feel like you have known them all of your life. If we didn't already own a house in The Villages, I would want so much to live in The Villages because yesterday I beat Sweetie on a hole. If this keeps up, they could be scouting me for the tour. (It was off the forward tees.) |
