How is this interfering with your daily activities?

kansasr 11-08-2024 10:47 AM

If it bothers you so much, go pick some of it up and find a place to dispose of it.

UpNorth 11-08-2024 11:07 AM

If you think the piles look bad now, wait to see what's left of the grass after they get picked up.

Two Bills 11-08-2024 11:12 AM

It will all definitely be gone tomorrow.

You said it right. People know we aren't supposed to talk about Fema and stuff on here. I say that I am just fine waiting for the Feds to pick it up. We already paid in to it. We are living here because most of us have taken good care of our money. Saved it. Reused stuff. Didn't spend it on foolishness and all those other virtues. It's been a great week for most of us.

Stu from NYC 11-08-2024 12:07 PM

Is there a reason this stuff cannot be burned for generating electricity?

Pondboy 11-08-2024 12:17 PM

I know it’s a bubble that we live in. But if you leave you will see that all over central Florida there are similar piles of debris everywhere.

Only so many people and so much equipment to remove.

Rent a chipper and a muncher and go into business. Ground cover, mulch, etc. By the bag or by the truck load. My garden could use a few cubic yards.
Just a thought.

Go to the costal towns and then you will see and smell debris piles. Whine all you want, you have it easy compared to those that lost everything.

bowlingal 11-09-2024 06:02 AM

if you get e-mails from the district, you will know the schedule update. Sign up for these e-mails and you will have information available to you about many things going on here in the villages

District Gov sent out a lengthy well informed letter this week explaining what has been done how many tons have already been removed and what’s the plan in the coming weeks. Chill your jets!

Does it bother you? The Villages has done a great job of dealing with the debris from the hurricane. Also, the new fall flowers have been planted.
What do you expect them to do? If it is a problem for you, go pick it up yourself!!!

Rwirish 11-09-2024 08:31 AM

How many notifications need to be sent out? Check District Gov.

Yes, there is LOTS of debris. It appears they don't have enough teams and equipment to move more quickly. I agree it IS getting old, though.

cwmmfink 11-09-2024 10:00 AM

Travel Southwest to the Gulf. You will see real debris.

La lamy 11-09-2024 11:04 AM

I decided to put all my debris in 4 foot by 6 inches bundles as I read is recommended for regular pick up. I hope this will get it done this next garden debris pick up. Otherwise I'll bring it to the dump myself.
