Used Frank Gay excellent service
 

I read some negative posts regarding Frank Gay, Since four out of four plumbers did not return my call I called Frank Gay. A new bathtub installation. All I can say is the employees showed up on time, did the work, cleaned the area and were professional. I will call them again if needed

Good to know. It’s nice seeing a positive review considering the last BEWARE was from someone angry they had to pay an emergency fee for off hours.

Frank Gay is doing home Reno? Once they ripped out the tub, and installed a new one, was there tile work? Did you get to pick the new tub, at a showroom, or was it just a standard picture?

I was thinking the same thing. Also, did you get competitive quotes, such as from a bath remodeling company? I can understand that a small plumbing company may not be prepared to replace a tub. A lot of the complaints about Frank Gay are that their quotes are often 2 to 3 times the going rate. If your purpose is to counteract the negative posts, your post needs more detail to be effective.

Over time there have been so many negative reports about Frank Gay Plumbing that you’d be hard pressed to dismiss them all as just “disgruntled”. Why set yourself up for failure!

I've used Frank Gay a number of times and I have a project set up next month for them to replace my home water filter. They have always been professional. But whatever you do don't sign a contract with them, I did, and they constantly called me to tell me I was due for my inspection. It got to the point I felt I was being harassed.

Used them once and NEVER again. Outrageous charges for simple fixes. Immediately want to sell you service contracts that have HIGH costs way above all others. Tecks get commissions. Go with Good Guys or Munns.

Billy 41....count yourself very lucky. BTW, you didn't state the price you paid. they can do the work, but at what price? Nobody said they can't do the work.

Maybe the other plumbers were reputable and *busy* while Frank Gay & crew were available due to lack of repeat customers?

So you felt harassed but hired them again anyway? I had Dove Plumbing move my whole house shut off valve from outside into my garage and install a brand new whole house water filtration system for $600. Would be interested to know what you will pay. Dove Plumbing, leave a message, Village Plumber and Mike Scott have people full time in their office answering the phone so I don’t know who you are calling that won’t call back. If Frank Gay says your whole house needs to be re-plumbed, say NO!

Until they get rid of that ANNOYING radio commercial I’ll never use them …….

We would never use them just from the negative comments (and there's a lot of them) on social media. We've used Mike Scott when something was needed. Got a call-back right away from the company and someone was also sent out fairly quickly. Oh---I had a friend use F.G. early on after they bought the other's business. She said it was a "nightmare"---she fired the tech and got someone else to do the job. I'm surprised F.G. is still in business here but they'll always prey on folks who don't know any better!!

Would never use them two of my neighbors got charged double what the usual is. No way

And paid at least three times the amount that any other plumber would have charged
 

Guaranteed you paid three time the price than almost all plumbers, I know first hand when they took over for previous owners and were charged over $200 to change filters for 15 minutes of work that the previous owners charged $85 They are close to thieves annd wh they have such a bad reputation and negative reviews

You understand that anytime when 100 or so people have a bad experience and you say you had a good one, people get suspicious? You sound like you got lucky!

I had Gay service my water filter. I asked them for replacement filters. They quoted me $230+. .....and they called Jesse James a thief. A set of filters cost $30 and can be installed easily.

I believe or at least heard that they now have a third party handling their incoming customer calls/complaints. Maybe that will help resolve those alleged customer service issues???

Yes, I will use them again because their service people are reliable, the problem was when I signed this so call contract that was not expensive, they would call me two to three times a month to ask if I was ready for my annual inspection. You get the feeling they want to send someone over to hunt for a problem to drum up business. I'm replacing my whole house Pentair water system with a new system and have price it out with two different companies and the pricing was similar.

Do you really think they are unaware of the multitude of complaints directed at them? Also, since most of the complaints result from grossly overcharging, I think they may be aware of what they are doing. It's really a shame, since the company they bought out, Kiley and sons, was excellent.

Perhaps they just think Villages people are easy to rip off. Plenty of negative reviews on here. However, I did a Google search and most of Googles' 4000+ reviews are 5 stars. And The BBB rates them A+. So, I would guess that they could do a lot of overcharging in The Villages and get away with it.

Google reviews are fake and they are easy to buy online. Just Google "fake Google reviews". Google should stop allowing people to post reviews unless they can validate the reviews. I am very skeptical of any company that promotes their business by posting hundreds or thousands of 5-star Google reviews on their website.

I knew that. Most people don't post good reviews unless there is some incentive. Some of the bad ones are from the competition or from individuals with an axe to grind. In any event, Frank Gay would be the last outfit I would call if I needed anything done.

You will find many positive reviews for many businesses (except Frank gay) give glowing reviews with no incentive needed. However I never read a review from someone with less than 100 posts.
