Good hair stylists

Can anyone direct me to a really good hair stylist close by. I am still driving two hours back to my hair stylist (Max) where I lived before and figure I should start looking here since I live here now.

I did check the search but it brought up info from 2008.

Thanks

I go to LeslieJon's (next to Target) Erin does my hair...does a great job (I have thick hair) on not only cut, but my color (I have a base color and highlights & low-lights)

Mudder 01-26-2011 07:50 PM

Lisa at Bella's in La Plaza Grande

scrapple 01-26-2011 09:16 PM

Parker at Root 466. Not only does he do a good job on the hair but he has a great personality!

JenAjd 01-26-2011 10:15 PM

Prices too would be appreciated! What do these folks charge for a cut??
Anyone know anything about Victoria Hair Company on 466 between Morse Blvd. and Rolling Acres Rd.?? It's next to LabCorp in that strip mall..

Cateca 01-26-2011 11:57 PM

Good hairstylist

I go to Brittany at JQ Hair and Nails in Mullbery Shopping Center... close to Publix and Beef O'Bradys.

Barefoot 01-27-2011 12:16 AM

Pam at Root 466, southern trace plaza.

I'm bumping this as I'd love to hear in-put!!!

ilvgolf 01-27-2011 10:58 AM

I go to Shalom at Classy Hair and Nails on 466 just before 441. She has been doing my hair for 9 years.

YodaMom 01-27-2011 06:29 PM

Thanks everyone!

korman45 01-28-2011 08:53 AM

Love Victoria. Does a great job. Very friendly salon. Very reasonable in pricing!

mikeandnancy1112 01-28-2011 08:59 AM

Dawn at Victoria Hair Company is great! The number is 753-2299

The place is at Santa Fe Crossing on 466.

vj1213 01-28-2011 09:20 AM

LeslieJon's has the different levels of stylists so prices can vary...but they do have a brochure you can pick up at the front desk that lists all prices in the salon.

JenAjd 01-28-2011 01:47 PM

Thanks for the responses re: Victoria Hair Co.!!!

Lindsey Glenn

Lindsey Glenn at Leslie Jon next to Target. She's terrific for cut and color. She did Sarah Palin's hair when she visited The Villages. Quite an honor, I'd say.

Props to Victoria Hair Co.! Victoria does my hair (naturally curly, thinning, and I'm on lotsa medication: can we speall "high maintenance?"). She does wonders for me--and everyone who leaves that salon does so with great looking hair!

PS: this is my first post--I'm so excited to be living here and now a member of TOTV..

HeyGirly 01-29-2011 10:35 AM

hahahahahahah @ my previous post: I need to learn how to spell "spell!" duh!

nitakk 02-05-2011 09:48 AM

First of all, let me say I'm picky! I wear my hear short but still want to look like a girl. Have fine hair but lots of it. Golf, swim, etc. so I need something that looks OK when you've been in the golf cart. Not a big fan of hard, crunchy hair! Anybody out there know somebody who can do this style and kind of hair?

Welcome to you! I am glad you have landed and unloaded and are now unleashing. You seem to be my kinda girl!

Hope you have at least 1000 years in Paradise and each is better than the last!!

Hugs,
Gracie.....girl

HeyGirly 02-05-2011 10:19 AM

Okay, now my day is made. Gracie, I love reading your posts (I think we were related in another time dimension), you are one of THE brightest lights of TOTV--welcoming, understanding, insightful, able to gently get your point across even when it's obvious you are grinding your teeth, and funny, funny, funny. Signed, Gracie Groupie (Don't be nervous, I'm not into stalking...)

Mikitv 02-05-2011 12:18 PM

I have curly, wavy, and frizzy hair. Keeping it short helps so I get it cut by Sharon at Cal's, Colony Plaza. $14.00 for haircut.

Are there any salons in The Villages that use Aveda hair color?

GOJODO 02-07-2011 08:21 AM

Brittany at Color Me on 466. Excellent:)

Jody Fisher 02-18-2011 06:52 AM

Whitney at Urban Hair Studio in Oxford. Just off of CR 466 near Bargains and Treasures. Excellent colorist & stylist.

Hi Joyce, unfortunately there isn't an Aveda salon in The villages, here's the link for the salon locations: http://www.aveda.com/templates/door/usa_results.tmpl

I could be wrong, but I don't think Aveda has hair color, seems to me the caustic ingredients in hair color go against their mission of being green with botanical ingredients.

However, sometimes you can call a salon and ask if they will use a brand of color that you want and if you bring it, they will use it.

Good Luck!!

JenAjd 02-18-2011 08:42 AM

I used to go to an Aveda salon up north and she did use color! They don't "do" perms!

Finding a stylist is trial and error. Everyone's hair is different and what works with one person won't probably, for another. Just my experience anyway.

Yes JenAjd, I didn't see it on their website until I checked deeper, they do have color... Sorry about that!!

laudie 02-18-2011 09:57 AM

I use Dina at Tuscany. She does my cut and color. She is great.

Mich_Duval 03-16-2011 04:24 PM

Tuscany Day Spa

I go to Tuscany Day Spa in Lake Sumter Landing. Dina is good but I see Helen. Plus their staff is wonderful!

I went to Parker at Root 466 yesterday, told him to "cut it off". It's getting hot and I'm in the pool every day. He gave me what I think is a really cute pixie cut, still feminine and soft. This morning I jumped out of bed, showered, towel dried the little bit of hair I now have, threw some Bed Head Manipulator on it, a little lipstick, a little mascara, 2 classes, a run into town to do errands, a jump in the pool and can I say I think I look great? Haircut, styling and shampoo by Parker-- $25, coffee--free, headmassage--priceless!

mfp509 04-15-2011 02:22 PM

I have Tamara at Urban Hair - wonderful haircut. I'm so happy.

Pturner 04-15-2011 03:39 PM

HeyGirly,

:welcome::welcome::welcome: Love your screen name. Anybody who thinks Gracie is "welcoming, understanding, insightful, able to gently get (her) point across even when it's obvious (she is) grinding (her) teeth, and funny, funny, funny" is...

...right on the money.

Please keep posting. Something tells me you're like that too!

I have hair similar to yours. Did you ever find a stylist you like?

lm2011 05-29-2011 01:50 PM

I have been going to the same hair stylist for the last 10 years. Her name is Natalie and she works at Argo Hair. She always listens to what i want and may make a few suggestions of her own. I literally have people stop and ask me constantly who does my hair. I think you would be happy with her.

barb1191 05-29-2011 02:39 PM

Roger at Roots on Southern Trace Plaza recently styled my hair and am really pleased. He listened to my ideas, added his own and voila.....success.

My daughter who is visiting from MA also had her hair styled by Joshua at Roots and was extremely pleased and told Josh that she will have to fly down for her next appt. (J/K) Daughter returned to MA yesterday.

lm2011 05-29-2011 03:09 PM

Natalie at Argo Hair Salon on 441 across from Cracker Barrel.

Tall Terri 06-29-2011 12:46 PM

New Hair Salon

I've been going to Chadia's Hair Salon! - They just recently opened in Lady Lake. She did a wonderful color change on my hair and my cut finally "moves"! I've been trying to get a nice feel in my hair for YEARS!.

Call her - she's at 510 County Road 466, Suite #104A - 352-750-2335. Let her know that Tall Terri sent you. She and her ladies will help you with anything that's stressing you about your hair.

Professional facials as well!!:pepper2:

Just a quick comment - I've yet to see the hair cuts looking the same for everybody - unlike some other salons I've visited. also - no "old lady" looks!

ladydoc 06-29-2011 04:36 PM

OH OH, I have a feeling that my days are numbered with my ponytail. I have not worn it any other way since I retired. I have zero patience for messing with hair and makeup, but with the heat, I might have to sacrifice the ptail....Anything longer then brush, put in scrunchy is beyond me....

juneau 06-29-2011 07:05 PM

I go to Dolly at Shear Madness on 441 in Spanish Plaines. She's good, gives a good haircut and is not over the top in prices.

I'm with you ladydoc - definitely low maintenance although I have a lot of high maintenance friends. Just shake my head at the time they take on such ministrations.
