Will miss Norah O'Donnell on CBS Evening News.

I enjoyed watching her over the last six years as the anchor of CBS Evening News . And will probably go back to watching some other network new's program.

manaboutown 01-24-2025 06:18 PM

Never heard of her. I DVR and thereby watch commercial-free Jesse Watters Primetime on FOX and especially enjoy the ironic humor in his newscasts.

collie1228 01-24-2025 10:30 PM

Since CBS News (on Sixty Minutes) replaced Kamala’s word salad non-answer with an answer to a different question, I will never give CBS a second of my time. Never. They lost every ounce of creditability they ever had. So bye bye to Nora.

tophcfa 01-24-2025 10:58 PM

Nora was our favorite. We record her every night and rarely miss an episode. Her show was excellent, never takes a political stance, just tries to impartially report the news. Lester Holt will be our new daily half hour of somewhat impartial news. We’re going to miss Nora.

BPRICE1234 01-25-2025 03:23 PM

If you are happy with biased news, then Lester will be just fine.

Topspinmo 01-25-2025 04:42 PM

I’m staying away from this one…..ok couldn’t resist.

Caymus 01-25-2025 06:26 PM

Replace with a modern version of Max Headroom (or Maxine Headroom).

JRcorvette 01-25-2025 06:29 PM

Nope not at all….

I will probably go with Lester Holt as well.

Slightly slanted but nothing like MSNBC nor like FOX.

CarlR33 01-25-2025 09:52 PM

I’m surprised there is still a 6:30 evening news show at all especially with CBS having their CBS 24/7 channel on free apps like Pluto. Heck, even the locals covers the national news forgoing the local news topics, IMO. From what I read they pay large salaries for people to report the news to a non audience at 6:30 so something has to give.

manaboutown 01-25-2025 11:36 PM

FOX for facts. MSM for fake news and propaganda.

Neither for facts. Both are very prejudiced.

That’s funny….. never took a political stance. You’re pretty funny these them all.

That is 100% true. I watch multiple channels to obtain a wide range of opinions (knowing that they are ALL prejudiced)....not to agree or disagree with any specific political ideology, but to try and understand why the people in my orbit say the things they do, and to recognize the media's amazing influence on shaping public opinion. That being said, I think that Jesse Watters on FOX at 8 PM has a great sense of humor and his show is incredibly entertaining. There is something in every broadcast that makes me chuckle (either what he says, how he says it, or even some of the captions on the bottom of the screen). It's the only show that I watch or record every night, but I don't consider it news.

Rocksnap 01-26-2025 06:52 AM

Haven’t come close to watching FAKE NEWS in like, years! I’m just a little smarter than that. Not much, but it counts and I’m sticking to that.

daca55 01-26-2025 07:11 AM

Guess I missed it! What happen to Norah O’Donnell?

She "saw the wring on the wall" . Her salary was recently reduced from $8 Million to less than $4 Million. Additional cutting will probably happen when the new owners of CBS/Paramount take over shortly.

Come on over to Fox news where they report on BOTH sides of the isle.

Mrs. Heck 01-26-2025 07:48 AM

PBS News Hour

My daughter told me about this, said it was a frank discussion with guests about current topics. I tried and fund it refreshing. We have UTube TV, so I’m not sure where you’ll find with your setup. Give it a try.

ithos 01-26-2025 07:55 AM

I thought she did a wonderful job of "fact checking" at the VP debate. :D

You need to tear yourself away from FOX. Everyone know who Norah O'Donnell is and I don't even watch her. You know FOX is NOT a news station. No wonder...

MaryMS 01-26-2025 07:57 AM

Fox is not registered as a “news” distributor with the FCC. They are registered as an entertainment channel. Look it up. It really is FAKE NEWS.

Pretty soon, we will have state tv and you will have no choice. Those that control the media are kissing the ring.

FOX is NOT news. Did you not get the memo? Oh, you watch FOX, they don't tell the truth.

ithos 01-26-2025 08:01 AM

I am so old that I once enjoyed watching CBS news almost daily.

LonnyP 01-26-2025 08:09 AM

She was fair and impartial. Can now go to FOX and see why they paid millions for their lies.

bonbonn 01-26-2025 08:30 AM

she is bias we nick named her nasty norha. lester holt is an ass. they are all way over paid, thats why so many commercials

phylt 01-26-2025 08:46 AM

IMO - To Each Their Own.

Most of these comments seem to be vague and personal. Will not change anyone's opinion or actions. So Be It. There is still so much division, and it's disheartening. Just like "the Parties", most Media takes sides and caters to their audience.

Ratings certainly show the facts where viewership is moving. Network news media is taking huge hits, as are several "Cable News" media. Facts are facts and Media is driven by ratings. And due to lower ratings in key groups, some of these are facing layoffs, cutbacks, or sales of Divisions.

So be it. We, here, will continue our personal News sources - a variety of cable/on line sources. Personally we discount those sources that have shown BIAS in their reporting, and avoid them.

It's a great country - we have CHOICES.

That's hilarious. FOX had to pay almost a billion dollars because of lies, and their defense was no one could take them seriously. I'll be laughing about you comment all day.

Taltarzac725 01-26-2025 08:55 AM

It looks like her contract was up.

rsmurano 01-26-2025 08:59 AM

How many redactions has nbc/cbs/abc/cnn/msnbc had to do? Check it out, these are normally done at 2am in the morning.
I have watched a couple of trumps speeches that were mandatory for the cnn/MSNBC/cbs/abc news to air and in multiple cases, the network muted the speech but had a panel telling their audience what Trump was saying, which was their opinion and since I was bouncing around different channels, their interpretation was inaccurate.

Nora never takes a political stance, now that’s funny 😄

Cliff Fr 01-26-2025 09:24 AM

I heard that her viewer ratings were pretty low. The legacy media has fallen on hard times for various reasons.

ByebyeMichigan 01-26-2025 09:25 AM

Do yourself a favor and watch Newsmax.

ROCKETMAN 01-26-2025 09:26 AM

Lots of different opinions. By far MSNBC is the most left with Madcow the worst and others close behind. CNN since the election has 2 republicans on there late night panel show and stuffed trump hater Acosta to midnight shift. O’Donnell certainly lean left. Holt remarked in an interview you don’t have to hear both sides to make an informed decision. Almost admitted asking Hillary soft questions in debate with Trump.
