Jefferson Starship Fans?

..they're performing at the Tracy on March 11. Who else is a fan?

From Jack Casady and Jorma to Gracie Slick, Paul Kantner, and even the current lineup with Chris Smith on keys and David Freiberg - all great music. They'll be performing songs from each of the lineup eras.

Anyone else?

I might have an extra ticket - I am NOT selling, I'm offering the seat next to me.

Anyone remember the Grace L. Furguson Airline and Storm Door Company?

Gee I'm surprised so many members of a forum that caters to people who were teenagers and young adults when Jefferson Airplane was popular, who grew up listening to it and Jefferson Starship, wouldn't be jumping on this thread.

They had a lot of competition. Back then I was more into the Stones and Zepplin.

I wasn't a teenager when Jefferson Airplane was popular, but I did listen to a lot of Jefferson Airplane as a teenager! Does that count??

Not trying to be snarky, but to answer your question as to why this post hasn't gotten more traction on this forum...maybe because not all--or maybe not even most--Jefferson Airplane fans, are fans of Jefferson Starship?

I really like the former, but I had no interest in the latter..

I'm trying to think how I got into Airplane...maybe through CS&N, or more likely the Grateful Dead. Interesting bit of trivia--Jerry Garcia played on, and is listed as "Musical & Spiritual Advisor" in the liner notes on Jefferson Airplane's "Surrealistic Pillow" album.

I might end up going to the concert alone then. Picking up my tickets at Will-Call, courtesy of Chris Smith, owner of the band and keyboard player. Friend of the family :)

I liked the Airplane’s version of “Triad”.

It's still over a month away OBB. Plenty of time to get rid of tiks.

My wife and I will be there. I'm not a big Jefferson Airplane fan, but a couple friends of ours are going and asked us if we wanted them to pick up tickets for us. The main reason I agreed was to see the new concert hall (or whatever it is called).

I'm not trying to "get rid of tickets." I'm looking for someone to take with me, and meet the band after, get an album or something autographed, etc.

It's a theatre by the way. They call it a "Performing Arts Center" but that's just GenZ-speak for Theatre :)

Definitely looking forward to it. I'm not a "big" Airplane or Starship fan either but I grew up with the music and it'll be a great experience to hear it live by the band that created it. White Rabbit, Jane, Somebody to Love, even We Built This City (which is a song the band actually dislikes but might play anyway), Sara, Count on Me, Miracles - tunes that once you hear them, you realize you've been hearing them all your life.

Looking for strangers on the internet to go to a concert?

No, looking for members of this community who I've been communicating with for several years now. I'm also reaching out on one of the Villages clubs I'm a member of on their Facebook page.

I'll be in the company of around a thousand "strangers" on the night of the concert, having one who has this forum in common with me might be nice. Thank you for your concern about my safety though.
