Golf cart dealers in the area that sell electric golf carts
Good morning. My wife would like an electric golf cart. What dealer would you recommend we visit? I've heard The Villages Golf Cars dealers are expensive and that we should look elsewhere. We've considered the Evolution but would like to compare them to EZ-go, Yamaha and Club Car.
|
There is a dealership in Wildwood selling Epic and Icon electric carts - Bradley Golf Carts at 417 S. Main St. (301). While I have not bought through them, the carts they had at the Ocala Home and Garden show looked impressive and had a reasonable price. $12,000 for a 4 seater (all facing forward). Don’t know about reliability yet. The enclosure was $1700 more. If you wanted to add the enclosure after you purchase the cart, Covers and Canvas will do it for about $1,300.

I would recommend starting out at village golf cars. They have Ez-go, Yamaha and Club Car (and Star). You can compare them and drive them and see the accessories you want. Accessories and customization are a big factor in the cost of the cart. Once you know what cart that you want then you can shop for price and also compare with other brands beyond the big three.
Villages golf cars are usually more expensive than other dealers or private sellers (if you are considering used). But, not necessarily so depending on promotions and how much you value service. Price out a cart to be sure. Once you know the price of an accessorized cart you like, then you can shop for a similar one from those brands or a less expensive brand. |

My choice of a dealer, is Sunshine Golf Carts in Ocala. Pick up & delivery in TV most every day for service or repair work. William is the owner, Strom & Tom are managers. |
Take a look at Custom Drive off 441by Aldi's. I've rented one of their electric carts despite not being a big fan of electric carts. Nice bunch of people. I did enjoy the cart.

Before you purchase, make sure you can get parts and service easily because all carts will need service and repairs and some point. Make sure you are purchasing a cart brand that has a very positive track record. Make sure the dealer that you are buying from has a long record of excellent customer service.
In the past 20 years of living here in TV and being in the golf cart business I have seen many cart brands and cart dealers come and go. Be careful. |
I've got a 2019 EZ-GO Elite 18,000 miles and never had one problem
Seems to go just as far on a charge as the day I bought it. Heck, I've only done two of the annual services. |

Forget the golf cart and buy a Hy-bred car.
Get the best of both worlds. Drive with air conditioning/heat, full stereo, power steering, maintaining one vehicle, seats 5 people, full encloser, 1 insurance premium, and lots of room in your garage with parking for one. What's not to like? (❁´◡`❁) |

I've heard good things about Hidden Creek Golf Carts regarding customer service, and their prices seem to be competitive. They sell Evolution, Club Car, E-Z-GO, and Yamaha. People seem to like their Evolution carts (most get either the Ranger or the Maverick), but there has been a delay in getting some parts, and they may not offer the 205Ah battery any longer. |
Villages Discount Golf Carts.
They have a good selection on electric and as someone mentioned, you can not only test drive, but rent them too. Their electric C2 and C4 are reasonably priced and come packed with options. A friend has one and I have use it extensively with him. They come with one of the biggest batteries 210ah that will give over 80 miles in one charge. Easy to re-charge, just plug into a standard 110v/120v outlet and it will start and stop when ready. They have a few locations but the one I will share here, it’s their main one with the biggest selection, including Yamahas, etc if interested in those too. Ask for Mike Poynor at 352-268-3447. He is really easy going and is currently helping us with a C2 purchase. Good Luck Google Maps |
We purchased a new Atlas lithium cart from One Stop Carts off 301 last summer.
It’s been a great cart for us and we drive it a lot. Our 2022 gas Yamaha gets barely driven as we prefer jumping in the electric for most trips. |
We purchased ours at Wholesale Golf Carts. 2 years old Yamaha
that is customized for The Villages, and our needs. Great custom service and it comes with a 6 month bumper to bumper and 5 year warranty on the motor, and it was about 40 percent less... And once a year they will pick up and service the Cart for 125. Google Maps Google maps pin |
We bought two Atlas golf carts. No issues and good customer service.

Check out Botero Carts in Ocala. They sell and service for The Villages. A new Evolution D5 Ranger will cost $10k less than nearly anything else you can buy, and have more features. I have 3,500 miles on mine and love it.

Wholesale Golf Carts
We bought ours from Wholesale Golf Carts just outside the Villages. So did our neighbors. Extremely satisfied. They have a great guarantee and then if your cart ever needs service you only pay for parts no labor, they will also pick up and deliver no cost. Very easy to work with, highly recommend.

Just make sure they service electric carts after you buy them! We have friends who bought one only to find out the dealer they bought it from didn't service them and when they had a problem with the cart, they had to call around finding someone to service it. Big headache and took weeks to get their cart back with added expense of a rental during that time.

To save a $, how are you going to get your cart into the place for service? Are you going to have them pick up your cart from Ocala if so how much are they going to charge you just for pickup and return? When using the villages, I could drive my cart there for service and they would give ma a loaner, every time. Even electric carts needs servicing

It's only an LSV if you actually ordered it with a VIN ($$) and then registered it with the DMV ($$) and got full insurance ($$$). Most folks will purchase these as a simple golf cart without all of the added expense to use it as an LSV and will get golf cart insurance (far cheaper). |

I like my ParCar but getting it serviced is a pain as third party mechanics find it hard to get the parts. |
I would recommend you look at the Atlas 210ah cart at One Stop.

The Atlas rides well, but there are just too many things I look at and say "why the hell did they design it like this?". |
You can get a 210ah Atlas gen2 cart for about $13K on sale. Keep an eye out.

We ordered our Evolution from Hidden Creek. It just came in and we have a FaceTime walk around tomorrow. They offered the most add on options and the Evolution was the most cost effective compared to the other electric brands we checked. For $15 k we got a 4 forward Ranger plus with just about every bell and whistle available. A Star or EZ Go would have been at least $22K for similar.

I went and drove a new Venom ev yesterday. I was impressed with the quality, features and the ride. Definitely worth looking at.
Adventure EV Golf Car bought the Badcock Furiture store in Wildwood by Ace hardware. They're moving there soon and will have a nice showroom, and will be making enclosures in house using Sunbrella material. The 2025's are coming in later this week. |

The automatic parking brake of the EZ-GO is one of the top features you should look for, especially if you play golf. No need to engage/disengage the clunky break pedal at every stop. Another feature to look for is self-cancelling turn signals. Well worth it.

Anyone have experience with Epic golf carts? I stopped by Bradley's, and am quite impressed with the cart features, especially the 4-wheel disc brake system, and the overall "solid" feel. I was surprise to learn that to get a 210 ah LiFepo4 battery, they combine 2 105 ah's (amp-hours). Anyone on here knowledgeable as to whether that is common or a good practice??
I had intended to go check out the Atlas, I will do that soon. I will appreciate any feedback. |
