Total hip replacement - orthopaedic institute
 

I have had hip pain for several years but over the last year it has become almost unbearable. I am considering having a total hip replacement done by Dr. Joseph Locker at the Orthopaedic Institute in Ocala, FL. I would appreciate any feedback from anyone that has past (or recent even better) experience with Dr. Locker. I would appreciate any recommendations...Thank you

Absolutely the BEST from experience last year!! Fantastic results and NO pain and recovered quickly. Highly recommend.

Dr Locker did my right 2019 and left early 2024. You won’t be disappointed with him. Plus he can perform it right in his own surgical center if your health is okay. So happy to be pain free!

I was happy with Dr. Van De Leur in Brownwood. Walking without walker or cane in 2 weeks. Golfing in 3 weeks.

I do not know of the orthopedic institute in Ocala with 3.5 stars. Now Florida Orthopedic Institute {FOI} is another story .They get 6 stars of 5. Their Tampa facility have done both hips, 1 knee, replaced 6 back discs. They are unique in that their Drs are VERY specialized. The knee guy does just knees, the hip guy does just hips. If you ever want to find out what kind of work a Dr. does check out with injury protection lawyers like Morgan & Morgan. They even give them 5 stars.

Dr. Locker did my hip 5-6 years ago. Strongly recommend him and his team.

A neighbor of mine had hip surgery performed at the Villages Hospital with disastrous results. Dr. Locker did revision surgery (in other words, he operated on the patient and fixed another doctor’s mistake). Today this person is fine and well. Were it not for Dr. Locker, he would probably be in a wheelchair.

Dr. Locker did my hip 4 yrs ago. Excellent results. Highly recommend. The hospital just opened a new hip replacement surgical wing right after my surgery.

I used Dr. Justin Dean from Florida orthopaedic institute. He was at UF Health shands when i had him do my surgery. Some of the ortho guys left shands and formed this group in ocala. They are a branch of the office in Tampa. I also sent him a friend who had a really bad hip replacement from Unova. He has her up. walking and doing very well. She just loves Dr. Dean and his work is first rate. Others have vouched for Dr. Locker, so just be aware Dr. Dean is out there and is also a excellent surgeon. I spent a 40yr career in healthcare. The last 10yrs at Leesburg, and now you know why i went to shands.

My wife had her back and both hips done by Dr. Rogers of the Orthopedic Institute of Ocala and everything went smoothly.

Dr. Locker operated on me. There was NO outside rehab as it is all done at home by YOU, not a therapist. You will not be disappointed.

Mine was done at UNOVA in TV and I am very pleased. I walked in at 8:30 and walked out (with a walker) at 3:30. A RN and PT came that evening. I was 73years old then. Good Luck

Dr Van de Leur is awesome. I had my hip replaced 3 months ago (he operates at Marion in Ocala), came home the same day, used a walker 1 day and a cane about 3 days and today i can do anything i did before. I highly recommend him

I tell all my friends about how WONDERFUL Dr. Locker is! He was recommended to me for my hip replacement and I can't say enough about how Awesome he is! Excellent results.

He just installed a new hip replacement for my wife. Three weeks later no walker, very little use of cane, she is driving the golf cart and the car, most of the pain, swelling and stiffness are gone. No swimming yet, until the scar heals completely. Good surgeon with a good support staff.

Again I am so grateful for a community that we can turn to for helpful and positive feedback on so many important issues. I appreciate all of your wonderful responses. I am in so much pain, sometimes I feel overwhelmed. I also appreciate Dr. Van de Leur's recommendation as well. He is from the same Orthopedic Group as Dr. Locker and gives me even more confidence that I am in great hands (no pun intended) Thank you all so much!!
