Ghost ants....help!

If they are truly the tiny, fast ghost ants then we've had very good luck with Terro (I don't know what Tempo is).
If they are another sort of ant (white footed ant was one that we had) then the Terro seems to attract them more than kill them. Massey has taken care of our ant problems when we've called. |
Our former landlord used Massey.
Massey came practically straight away when we spotted the ants, and they were gone within a day or two after treatment. |
I agree with Terro. A few drops on a few pieces of paper and they will be gone in a few days.

Ghost ants are ridiculously easy to get rid of ... I'll give you an 12 hour solution and they'll be gone for months. Watch where the ants congregate. They'll usually follow a specific trail. Buy some of this: Amazon.com Put a couple of drops along the trail and just watch. They'll attack it, like my dog would attack Prime Rib. They'll eat some, bring it back to their next and they're done for! |
I found the Terro 'Bait Stations' didn't work, but the liquid on paper did. It might take a week or two to completely get rid of them. Keep adding liquid to the paper as needed.

We were told by our exterminator to use Terro Liquid ant baits ( sugar based w/borax......at big box stores). Set 4 inside, and 4 outside. Worked like a charm and they haven't come back in a year.

If you find the ant's trail & place a couple of drops ... watch. It's like moths to a flame. They'll eat those drops in a couple of hours & rush on back to their nest, to kill their brethren. |
Grits, they take back to nest, Eat, drink water and die. takes awhile tho.

In our early years here, starting in 2007, we occasionally saw tiny ants, roaches (not tiny), beetles, spiders etc in our homes. About ten years ago we bought Riddex Plus plug-in insect deterrent devices, and we almost never see any ants, bugs, etc in our house. The devices emit some type of signal that humans and pets don't hear, but which disturbs creepy crawlies, so they stay away. We also never have our home sprayed inside, as we're (especially me) very toxin-adverse (my husband does put insecticide outside around our house). We have three of the devices in our 2100 square foot home. Even though we don't have one of the devices in our garage, we also seldom see any insects etc there.

Terro is the way to go. Place a couple of drops in the area and don’t be surprised if you see more ants than you previously saw. They take it back to the nest and it wipes them out.
