Older Men word to wise.

Ok if you over 50 experiencing low flow or lower than normal (and we men know what I’m taking about) I suggested you see doctor to try pills to shrink prostrate. You don’t want to wait cause it takes while for medication to work, some cases long while to shrink post rate.

Believe me you don’t want go through the several processes procedures to cut out or burn hole bigger. On bright side the pills might work? if not you’re going to feel pain:22yikes: so I guess I’m saying don’t wait till garden hose complete plugged up and only dribbling.

There are other causes for similar problems, so you actually need to see a urologist, been there done that.....

Agreed. It's only going to get worse, and the longer you wait the greater chance it being a permanent problem.
A prescription for finesteride shrank my prostate, relieved all my symptoms, and brought my PSA down below 2.
No side effects, except it's also a hair growth med, so maybe my hair will thicken up!

I've seen myologist, but I haven't seen urologist.

Excellent advice. Can anyone recommend a good urologist in or near The Villages?

I’m very happy with Dr. Thompson village health, Straight forward, explains any questions, and listens. Hard to get appointment like about everywhere in health care around here. Office in brownwood and I think still maybe couple days month at village hospital location?

I agree, men should get an initial diagnosis if they have symptoms of an enlarged prostate (dribbling, poor stream, etc.). Once you have your diagnosis then the question is medication or surgery. But this requires a good discussion with your doctor (a urologist if you want to discuss surgical options). Initial diagnosis should include a history and exam, blood work (including a PSA) and an ultrasound to look at the size of your prostate. In this case size does matter! Remember every option has it's pros and cons and to make a good decision you need to know what they are.

Can they reinstall lead in your pencil while they are taking care of the flow?

Brian Hollibush 03-15-2025 03:14 PM

To get the lead back in the pencil there are 3 options:

1. Pills
2. Injection
3. Implant
