What is your favorite Albert Einstein quote?
|
"Make things as simple as possible, but not simpler."
|
“Put your hand on a hot stove for a minute, and it seems like an hour. Sit with a pretty girl for an hour, and it seems like a minute. That's relativity.”
|
Life is like riding a bicycle, to keep your balance you must keep moving.
Reality is an illusion, albeit a very persistent one. |
The world is a dangerous place to live not because of the people who are evil
But because of the people who don’t do anything about it |
"The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results"

"It's not that I'm so smart, it's just that I stay with problems longer."
I like to stay with something too, I think this attitude is a disposition. If I may share this with you. I remember we had a calculus problem on a test which I could not solve no matter how I approached it. That particular question stayed with me over the years and every now and then I’d make another attempt, sort of like at a crossword puzzle. Then 3 years after I graduated, in the summer while at the cottage, in a dream, the solution came to me! I was elated. But I have never used the equation for anything. (Calculating the volume of an irregular mass.) |

That seems to fit the same thing I have been doing since Autumn of 1991. Lucy keeps putting down the football but when I run up to kick it I wind up on my butt as she had pulled it away yet again. |

“I never try to remember what I can easily look up.” May not be the exact quote but close enough.

"If you can't simply explain a concept, you don't understand it well enough."

Everything is an illusion. Reality is an illusion, it's just persistent.

Einstein Quote
Albert Einstein famously called compound interest "the most amazing mathematical discovery of all time" because it allows for exponential growth, meaning interest is earned not only on the initial principal but also on the accumulated interest, leading to rapid wealth accumulation

"Science is a wonderful thing if one does not have to earn one's living at it."
I kept this above my desk through most of my career. It was often reinforced after grant submissions. |
