Well if you wanted to go to BJ or Sams that would be a reason

Waffle House unfortunately is not in the growth area of TV. I like Waffle House a lot. Just wish they built along 44. The future is south but the commercial business is presently limited and still 3 to 5 years away. My next visit to Sam’s will include breakfast at WH.

"Waffle House", "Waffle House", even the guys I play golf with are talking about the "Waffle House".
Is this what is known as an "Old People" candy store? :ohdear:

It’s a tiny building to always make it look busy:icon_hungry:
Yesterday in Ocala passed a new slider fast food. The building is made from a shipping container

jimkerr 03-28-2025 04:30 AM

No, I go to the one in Wildwood.

There are Waffle Houses in Wildwood, Leesburg, and Clermont. I think we're good on the south side.

So your reply should have been, no you haven't tried it. Since that was the question.

kayak 03-28-2025 05:42 AM

I'm glad to know it's open. Thanks for posting. I will be going soon. I love Waffle House.

Cuervo 03-28-2025 05:51 AM

Maybe it is me I've been to a few Waffle Houses over the years, I look at them as a quick noisy food fuel stops.
I don't understand if I want to have a relaxing breakfast where I might want to have a conversation with someone this would be the last place I would go to.

GSheer 03-28-2025 06:00 AM

Tried to but they have limited hours and we got there after 2. Apparently not enough workers at this point.

Did I hear another WH is being built in Deaton Plaza? Where the new Hooters is going in? There IS a second building under construction there. WH size.

Normal 03-28-2025 06:38 AM

Not Applicable

Not really applicable when driving to Costco is a shorter trip. Now if you were driving to Bonefish for Friday, maybe.

Last time I was up that way was December for yearly appointment. Took me a minute to figure out what business in such a Tiny building with maybe 15 parking spaces, could be.

My family lives in KY. Growing up WH was a truck stop or 3am after bar experience, for us.

WaWa’s is around the corner, I will be getting a Vanilla Carmel latte, with grilled chabbata with egg cheese and veggies.

We are fans of Waffle House and ate there when we lived in Ga. We currently live in the Spanish Springs area so it is close to us. We were thrilled to find out that a Waffle House was opening near us. We have already been twice.

As far as the hours——They have had employees from other stores working to help the new employees and the District Manager has been present and overseeing operations. We had an opportunity to chat with him on our first visit (which was on the second day it was open). We asked about the hours of 7am to 2pm. He told us that they slow open each shift and would be adding more shifts and eventually be open 24/7. We went to eat there yesterday morning around 9:15 and it was crowded with a wait but we were still seated within 15 minutes. The current hours have it closing at 9pm. I would imagine it will be open 24/7 by sometime next week.

looks nothing like a WH

Michael 61 03-28-2025 07:49 AM

What is the “wow factor” about WH? Finally visited the one near me here in Wildwood on I-75. Greasy spoon. Would only be my last resort if I was traveling and it was the only place around for miles for breakfast.

Years ago we would stop overnight when traveling to Florida and go to a Waffle house for breakfast. Now that most hotels and motels offer free breakfast very rare to go to one.

Yep, went there Sunday & wasn't very impressed. Much of the staff is pretty obviously young & inexperienced but they got 3/3 food prep orders wrong. The prices were only okay - especially with the $.50/egg surcharge - and the food was about average.

The place is pretty small but there was plenty of parking. For some reason though, they put the golf cart parking spaces in the furthest part of the parking lot. We're not in any hurry to go back.

50 cent egg surcharge

That is fairly constant anywhere anymore.

Went last week at about 4:30pm. The one pleasant surprise was that I didn't need to put on my parka! I was prepared, cuz we all know how WH is, but it wasn't that cold!
Food was good, restaurant was spotless. They are really training these new hires well!

No, my children when they were in high school would go there after a sporting event.

We are one and done at waffle houses. About 9 years ago we stopped at a Waffle House for breakfast off 95 around the Richmond, VA area on our drive south to our Villages home. When we walked in we quickly realized we were the only people in the place without dark skin. We waited about 15 minutes to be seated, while watching others that walked in behind us get promptly seated. We decided to find our own seats and then waited about another 20 minutes to get a menu, while several other folks that came in behind us were already getting service. After wasting about 35 minutes, we came to the obvious conclusion that we were most definitely never going to get served in that establishment. We walked out hungry, disappointed, and disillusioned. Needless to say, we’ll never set foot in a Waffle House again.

South already has 3 WH, there’s hope for just one great restaurant will find its way south. Mediocre food it’s covered

Waffle House has halted construction temporarily because of the egg crisis. I work for the company.

Don't give up on it because of one bad experience. We had a similar experience at one WH (in GA I believe).... we don't go to that one WH anymore. The next one we found, about five miles down the road, provided the good service we expected. We've eaten at a dozen over the years and that is the only one we wouldn't go back to.

polirudb 03-29-2025 06:38 AM

My wife and I went there the other night for the steak and lobster tail combo. The place was packed, so we left, went to BJs next door, and ate a hot dog. All is well.

Hopefully they actually have donuts during open hours. The newer one on Warm Springs barely had any whenever I stopped in, so I go elsewhere. Maybe that is why they no longer use 'Donut' in their name. Want to focus on drinks.
