Apartments near The Villages?
Hi everyone,
Wondering if anyone is aware of any nice apartment rentals near The Villages? We have 2 adult children that are considering moving close to us and will need to find a nice rental community nearby. Thanks in advance for any recommendations. John |
Lots of apartments has gone up in last 5 years and more being built, should have no problems finding apartment that suits them.
|
We see a lot of new apartments being built in Wildwood along 466A and 44A.

Don't know if this is important or if you are already aware, but family and friends who live in Marion, Sumter or Lake counties cannot use any of the amenities in The Villages. This includes swimming pools, executive golf, pickleball, tennis courts, Rec centers, etc.
There may be special exemptions for family who live nearby; not sure. |

Also consider the Oxford Oaks Section of the Villages which is open to families if you want to buy instead of renting.

You did not state their age. Renting a home in the Villages can be the same price as an apartment. You have to search in areas in which the homeowner bought before the home price explosion. My daughter and hubby found a nice Courtyard Villa for $1900 month. They were planning on purchasing a home here but are still renting. They are enjoying the carefree lifestyle that renting offers.

Have they considered long term renting in The Villages? With trash, water & amenity fee included it may be an option. Many websites list rentals. rentfromavillager.com a good start

I don't know what financial position you are in, but if you are capable purchase a home here in The Villages.
Take out a mortgage and have them pay it off; it might be less than what a landlord would charge them for rent, and you would actually have something to show for it. Renting as far as I'm concern is just throwing money in the wind. |
Can under 55 rent or buy in The Villages? It sounds like they can rent with no problem.

Look at road near Lowe’s 466A. There are new traditional apartments as well as apartment homes. The Villages also rents apartments at Brownwood. |

I agree with purchasing a house especially with the abundance of preowned. Have them make the mortgage payment, building equity.
We have done the same for our granddaughter and her fiancé, until they finish residency. Then they can either LC or we will sell house and put their invested money in an account for them to be used later. |
Let me elaborate on my previous posting. I’m a New yorker and in N.Y. there are 3 ways of doing things.
You can do things the proper way, wait forever if it gets done at all, you can do things the improper way and hope you don’t get caught or you can look for a work around. Again, this is you have the financial means. You price out a Village villa, go to the bank and put down the required amount to purchase and get a mortgage. You claim you are buying this for your children. They pay you cash under the table each month to cover the interest which is tax deductible on your end and if in a year or two if it does not work out and you can sell it for what you paid, it will have also made a bit of a profit on the principle that has been paid. |
Under 55 can rent or buy in the Villages as long as they don't have any children under 19 years old.

Nice location is right behind the new Costco that’s being built on 466.

The new “Eden” community on Marsh Bend looks lovely

I passed by a new apartment complex on 466 called Rolling Acres Reserve. Their website showed prices $1200 to $2400. I can’t vouch for the quality or what the landlord is like. Good luck.
Just a moment... |
Just know that you can NOT get them guests passes if they live that close. Anyone living within a 50 mile radius can Not use our facilities.

The monthly cost to own a small patio villa is approx $1200. Outside of the Villages, apartments range $1900 - $2400. The apartments in Brownwood and Spanish Springs are more expensive. Look around. $1900/month rent for a 1600 sq ft villa or home is a bargain. |
