Car goes Airborne in Roundabout

I have seen similar online postings with cars doing the same thing so not the first and I’m sure not the last.

Let’s see how many light poles get knocked down this year in roundabouts?

Or the one way arrow signs as I saw on Meggison a few weeks back when someone went straight across the round a bout.

Obvious distracted driving.

Do you play with your infotainment screen while driving ?
Just read VW plans to go back to knobs.

Nobody ever said that roundabouts were absolutely safe or that accidents couldn’t occur there. It’s a question over which one is ‘safer’.

Except some kind of hill was in the way.

We have trees/posts down in our roundabouts all the time. The roundabouts are safe when negotiated correctly, but most of the time you get people that stop before each roundabout even when there are no cars in sight (I’m still looking for the magical stop signs that pop up), make the 1st right in the inside lane, on and on.
I’m thinking that it should be mandatory that when you reach a certain age, you have to get an autonomous driving car.

"Tyler Street near Dallas’ Bishop Arts neighborhood". Not in TV nor Florida.

bobmarc 05-15-2025 08:34 AM

I'd bet alcohol was involved in the OP's example🍺

No one said nor implied that this was anywhere in FL.

I agree that it is NOT the roundabout's fault. But I believe that they should only be single lane. If there is too much traffic for a single lane, then a traffic light needs to be installed. I wonder what the cost difference is between a traffic light and a roundabout - when you factor in the additional cost of constantly changing the flowers and the confusion caused by roundabouts. people are more families with red lights.

Or which one "costs" more.

For you, and anyone else that believes the RBs should be single lane: How bad do you think traffic will back up AT EACH AND EVERY RB when 2 lanes have to merge into 1 prior to the RB????? Just about as bad as the ridiculous notion of replacing them with traffic lights. The answer is LEARN TO DRIVE or GET OFF THE ROADS.

One lane? How about 6?

That image is LOL funny.

Look closely, tractor trailer-type trucks are allowed in it and they block access to those wanting to exit in three places. Crazy. Which causes those exits to have very little or no traffic...jamming the whole scenario. Get the trucks out.

I did an image search to try to figure-out where that is, didn't quickly find it but, did come across this X post that includes that image and another even crazier one below it. A traffic circle you can also go through?! Yikes...
