Can’t resist posting a picture of that lovely lady singing and that voice… just sends shivers down my back!

Half Breed

By far the best song she ever sang was Half Breed.

I love the way the beautiful Cher played her appearance down (on her show) to let Raquel shine. Yep, she is a woman! Except my daughter would have said, “I can put an aircraft together from parts by dinner time…cause I’m a woman” lol (and she can depending on the parts).

Elvis Presley once said that Cher was the prettiest woman he ever saw.

Yet she married both Sonny Bono and Gregg Allman?

As if Raquel needed other women to dress down when appearing with her. She was a legendary sex symbol who could "dress down" in caveman clothes and turn the heads of millions. That poster is still as famous today as when published decades ago. Men still look at it and become completely entranced.

Yes, but as a female I can tell, Cher put on a severe wig so R’s hair would look better when Cher has 300 wigs most looking better than R’s (probably natural) hair. Then small details like the back of the dress emphasizes R’s sexy bum where as, it is straight making Cher’s look flat. Little things all add up, Cher wanted Raquel to shine physically, she knew her voice would over power Raquel any day. It was a curtesy. Something a female would do for a friend. Yes, Raquel was physically very sexy but Cher could make herself look unforgettable - she just chose not to.

I liked this song but the video from it was a bit much.

Sony is understandable, he helped develop her personality. She felt shy, second-class etc as a teen. He encouraged her. But when she became a super star he became jealous - or so it seemed to me.

Gregg Allman was just a piece of fluff. She found out soon enough.

I surprised that Cher's biggest hit and the recording that broke new ground in the recording world and created the "Cher Effect", doesn't get more love.

Or perhaps the version that make Cher cry.

I'll go with "If I could turn back Time".

jimjamuser 05-21-2025 02:50 PM

Cher was very good, but personally I preferred Blondie.

With Allman she must of felt like she was “Tied to the Whipping Post”.
