In honor of Ian Fleming's birthday, who is your favorite Bond... James Bond? And what is your favorite James Bond movie?

Goldfinger. Odd Job and Pussy provided nice subplots.

opinionist 05-29-2025 07:30 AM

Roger Moore
Live and Let Die

PugMom 05-29-2025 08:29 AM

Roger Moore, Octopussy

Taltarzac725 05-29-2025 08:58 AM

Ian Fleming's life outdoes the various Bonds' challenges met in many ways.

village dreamer 05-29-2025 09:34 AM

i hope the next bond is not a female, sorry lady's.

007 was a woman but they gave it back to the Daniel Craig Bond after his fights with villains. Or, maybe the woman offered it to Bond.

It sounds like they are settling on a British thirty something male. New Brit star takes the lead in race to be James Bond as flurry of bets are placed on him after 007 ‘clue’ | The Sun

My first tv crush.

I've always liked Sean Connery, but when I think of James Bond, Roger Moore is my first thought.

USOTR 05-30-2025 04:55 AM

Sean Connery has always been my favorite.. As a kid in South Florida I got to watch part of the filming of Gold Finger at The Fountain Blue.

Cuervo 05-30-2025 05:22 AM

Sean Connery, From Russia with Love.
Though I enjoyed Roger Moore, I found the films tone had change to be more humorous.

Radamo 05-30-2025 05:44 AM

Sean Connery is still the fave but I have to say the Daniel Craig was a welcome addition to the list. I think he did a great job as Bond. Favorite movie is probably Casino Royale with Skyfall as a close second. But you have to take your hat off to George Lazenby in On Her Majesty's Secret Service. He was quite the one hit wonder. This hit included both Telly Savalas and Diana Rigg!

coconutmama 05-30-2025 06:19 AM

Daniel Craig. Casino Royale.

But Sean Connery is who I think of when someone 1st mentions a Bond movie, “Bond. James Bond”. So I guess a close tie

Favorite character is the old Q

MikePgh 05-30-2025 06:31 AM

Thunderball. Probably where my love of the Bahamas and scuba diving came from too. Dr. No is a close 2nd.

Kamaaina 05-30-2025 06:42 AM

Sean Connery, Goldfinger then Thunderball

Sean Connery in Thunderball. Underwater action sequences.

TheDude 05-30-2025 08:23 AM

On her majesty's secret service book, and I like the movie.

Regorp 05-30-2025 08:33 AM

Sir Roger Moore in The Man With The Golden Gun!

Taltarzac725 05-30-2025 08:46 AM

My favorite James Bond is probably Sean Connery and James Bond movie is Goldfinger.

Think I took my live-in girlfriend at the time to a Timothy Dalton James Bond movie Licence to Kill - Wikipedia and she was not impressed and had been in the same theater as a bunch of teen age girls I would manage at the concession stand at the Idlewild Softball diamond in Reno, Nevada various summers at another James Bond movie For Your Eyes Only with Roger Moore. The girls seemed to be enjoying themselves. Timothy Dalton on stage and screen - Wikipedia

List of James Bond films - Wikipedia

For Your Eyes Only (film - Wikipedia)

It was a double -feature and they did not stick around for the 2nd movie which I think was Kagemusha - Wikipedia.

It was a long night at the movies.

My first drive in Bond movie was Her Majesty's Secret Service in 1969 with my first car and date. Needless say I didn’t see much of the movie.:highfive:

I missed that stage. Was a late bloomer.

I returned to Reno, Nevada to attend the 1989 annual summer law librarian convention and played hooky by going to see an Indiana Jones movie and walking around Reno much of the day. Also called one of my former bosses from the food service who told me to move on from Reno. Funny thing is I could not find the other man in the partnership anywhere for a while and then after I had forgotten to check where he could be my new search brought up a large number of lawsuits against him. I could not think of why so many people were suing him. It turned out he had become the Warden at one of the biggest prisons in Nevada. Same one that held OJ Simpson for a while. I had talked with him once in a while about my experiences with the Michelle Mitchell 2-24-1976 murder investigation but not that often. I was very surprised that he had gone into working and then supervising people in prison.

Love the new movie trailer with the man looking at a picture of OJ Simpson playing a character in a movie and slowly shaking his head when all the other people in the scene are honoring their fathers.

Bond

Sean Connery, followed by Daniel Craig, then Timothy Dalton. Goldfinger was probably my favorite Bond film.

Gene63 05-30-2025 03:21 PM

The best Bond

I like Daniel Craig and probably the best was Skyfall.

JMintzer 05-30-2025 09:02 PM

Sean Connery defined the role. Roger Moore was too "prissy" IMHO...

The others we afterthoughts... Until... Daniel Craig, who re-defined the role. Much more in line with the character the Ian Flemming wrote.

Casino Royal revived the series...

Skyfall was very good .

I have liked them all except for the Pierce Brosnan episodes. Based on rumors I’m guessing I won’t be a big fan of future episodes, although I hope to be pleasantly surprised.
