Newbie question - Golf cart accessories/gadgets

Good morning, all!

New resident and my Yamaha delivered this week.

What accessories or gadgets have you run across, for your cart, that you enjoy?

Bonus if anyone has an awesome suggestion as to how to mount an iPhone for GPS use.

Thanks, in advance.

Putter holder that attaches to you sunbrella. That ball gripper on the end of your putter will last longer since your not stuffing it back into your golf bag all the time.

bagboy 05-30-2025 08:47 AM

For the phone, you can buy a phone mount that fits in a cup holder for about $20.

Those are nice. I need to order one or two.

I found a cell phone holder that attaches to the steering wheel using the scorecard clip. It will tilt up so you can still get to your card to keep score...

A company called caddie buddy also makes a nice phone holder that clips to the score card holder on the steering wheel.

nyjets53 05-31-2025 01:24 AM

I use the ram quick grip with a double socket arm hanging from the aluminum plate that mounts the front shelf…

Whatnext 05-31-2025 04:17 AM

Neanderthal here.

I still like paper maps.:ohdear:

Accidental1 05-31-2025 05:51 AM

I use one of these and find it to be OK, but not great. It rattles around quite a bit and it’s a little awkward getting the card in and out.

Radamo 05-31-2025 06:42 AM

Not a fan of the steering wheel mounts. Using GPS when driving the phone goes in circles when making turns. Not helpful.

jacRI 05-31-2025 06:46 AM

I bought on Amazon a phone holder for a bicycle handlebar that I mounted on the crossbar near my rearview mirror.

Kamaaina 05-31-2025 06:52 AM

I've been using this since moving here in 2021. Amazon.com

Tint across the top 6-7" of the window. Don't know why more people haven't installed it.

Steering wheel mount for your phone is much better than the others.

I like this idea as the morning sun is brutal. Did you apply this yourself or have someone do it? If someone else, who did you use?

A large bag you can secure with golf bag straps to be used when going grocery shopping to hold your purchased items safely while in route back to your home.

Do you use the standard of the long one? By the way, love your username. I have very close friends who are from one of the two original families from Moloka'i. Now all on the west side of Maui.

I bought a roll (from Lowe's I think) and installed myself several years ago, works great, I still have film left over if you are interested. Very easy to install.

hav7979 05-31-2025 08:25 AM

I will add a new gadget. Tire pressure chages with the weather in a golf cart. I added this to both my carts

I also added backup cameras for my wife!!!!

I have one that fits in one of the cup holders.

hav7979 05-31-2025 08:44 AM

If you get one for the cup holder. Get one that still allows you to use the cup holder

HA! Found that one, yesterday! Looked like what I was envisioning and ordered it via Amazon. Delivery, albeit by USPS, soon!

Please elaborate on the installation...was it DIY or is "there a guy" for this?

Would be a wast of money for me, windshield is almost always folded down, especially if it’s sunny. Money would be better spent on a good pair of sunglasses.

USB ports, auto cancel blinkers, Bluetooth speakers

I like smaller diameter wheels and tires to LOWER the center of gravity, which increases acceleration and turning power. And I like an aftermarket muffler, which makes it run quieter.

In post #21 I mentioned I did a DIY, but I would be glad to help you, I still have film, and you can can see my cart before I do any work. Send a PM so we can discuss over the phone.

UpNorth 05-31-2025 06:01 PM

Gun rack. Keeps others from passing you. ;)

dcianciolo 06-01-2025 05:50 AM

Tint for your golf cart.

I installed it myself. It is advisable to use tint materials specifically for plexiglass. You will find it online.

ElDiabloJoe 06-01-2025 08:42 AM

Here's a more direct link to the guy on Etsy that makes the awesome "birdie shot" cup holders for your golf cart. I ordered mine in multi-colors to match a favorite sports team. I like that they can be screwed in, zip-tied, or command-strip velcro'd anywhere I want to put it.

I found mine on Temu, for about $8 each. I bought a half dozen and gave them out to my friends.

The ones on Amazon (or Caddy Buddy) are closer to $30 each.

You can lock your screen so it doesn't do that.

Or... Just wait the 5-10 seconds it takes to make a turn and it goes back to normal.

Personally, I don't like the cup holder phone holders. They constantly come loose and take up space I use for other things...

That's a generous offer, Tinker! I'll reach back, after I've run around in the new cart for awhile, if it seems like a solution I'd like to pursue!
