Service from The Villages Golf Carts
In considering a purchase from The Villages Golf Carts, was curious on others experience on having a cart purchased from them serviced there. They offer a loaner during the service time and give priority appointments to carts purchased there. Unlike some competitors, you must take the cart there versus them coming to you. Wondered what others experience has been with service at The Villages Golf carts, especially for those that purchased the carts there. Thanks.

We have purchased 2 carts through TV and 2 from outside the bubble. We use a private cart guy who comes to the house, works on our carts, at 1/2 cost of TV. Once the Eastport store opens I have zero expectation you won’t be sitting in the same line like the rest of us with over 15-20 years of sitting in our cart experience |
I was at Carts and Clubs this week south of Ocala on 301. Checking out a new Yamaha.
They had a lot of carts and can customize any way you want. If you need service they will come to your house. If they can't fix it there, they'll take it back to their shop and give you a loaner. Not sure on prices compared to The Villages Golf Cars since I haven't been there. |
Someone asked that same question recently. Not that thread but:

We bought ours there specifically so that we could have it serviced there. Don't know what you mean about Zero Appointments- we have no trouble getting an appointment.

We purchased our golf carts at TV and it’s been a year with no problems.
|
Bought in 2020 and have had service annually with no issue getting in. Have always been able to get an appointment for routine things and immediate work when my battery died and had to be brought in off the golf course by trailer.

Our 2022 Yamaha has been great, and the one problem we had was handled with professionalism by Villages Golf Carts. Our clutch went south, and they took it in, gave us a loaner, and fixed the problem. It took a couple of months to get parts, but we had the loaner, so we didn’t care about the delay. Overall we were very happy with Villages Golf Carts.

For my annual maintenance service I typically call one to two months ahead, drop off the cart before 8:00am, get a loaner and use it all day before returning sometime in the afternoon. |

Spanish Springs Shop never a problem
Purchased the cart from Spanish Springs drove it or on occasion trailered it there, never a problem. Takes reservations.

The salesperson in Carts and Clubs told me that the Villages purchased the REAL ESTATE not the business. Carts and Clubs is a tenant of the Villages not an employee. So I was told…..

Purchased used
We purchased a two year old, that had been completely renewed including seats, suspension, and curtains for half the price of a new one at TV.
HOME | Wholesale Golf Carts They come to the house once a year and pick up the Kart and service it the same day. If it needs more work, they bring you a loaner to swap out. None of this silly waiting in line, and none of this over priced stuff. |
Villages Golf Cars - Appointments
TV Golf Cars DOES take appointments! I've made several. You just have to plan ahead. I have an appointment this coming week. Have also made appointments for their annual Lifestyle Service.
That said, I have seen people drive up for 1st Come, First Served type maintenance. I absolutely recommend them! Quote:

We have had nothing but good service through TV Golf Carts in Sumter. We make an appointment and they give us a loaner. We used them with our old cart that came with our home when we bought it with the same good service. We do have Kart Aide in the event our cart would need to be towed there which happened with our old cart.

I have owned the Village Golfcarts for the last 10 years and I’ve always made an appointment for Service work. but you can find less expensive Yamaha golf carts if you go to Webster Florida.
|
Wouldn’t purchase a cart from anyplace other than The Villages store. Easy appointments and quality service. They only sell quality products. Sure, cost might be slightly higher but worth it for the post sale benefits like free loaner. As the old saying goes-you get what you pay for.

Won't service our cart anymore
When we bought our golfcart from them brand new in 2002, we were told they would service it "for life". Not true. After it's 15 years old, they will no longer service your cart. They said they can't get Yamaha parts for carts over 15 years old, so sorry, we won't even do your yearly tuneup. We were extremely disappointed and if and when we need a new cart, we won't be buying it from them. We now have a guy come to our home for any fix or yearly service we need.

I just had my cart serviced this week at the Brownwood location. It was originally purchased there by the original owner but I bought it second hand. I called and got an appointment within a week. Dropped off in the morning (efficient out front process) and was given a free loaner. They did the maintenance and called me by 2pm in the afternoon when it was done. Quick, easy, and professional. The price didn’t seem unreasonable to me. No complaints.

There are many happy customers, and also many who will never go back there - for other reasons than just being overpriced.
Always check the quality of any service work they perform. NEVER assume it was done right, properly, or professionally. Make sure was oil actually added back into the engine after yearly maintenance. Look over their workmanship and check for sloppy work, missing parts, cart damage, etc. Go over a "refurbished" cart thoroughly before and right after purchase. Get every "promise" in writing, signed by a manager. Understand their loaners are the cheapest carts ever made, and often lack rain enclosures, barely go 17mph (if you are lucky), and ride like there is no suspension. If something is not working right, never accept the "they are all like that" excuse. |

Village Carts Appointments
I don’t know who you talked to but when I was selling my villages cart if the new owner would be able to make an appointment. They said yes.
