Why wouldn't they ? Is there something different about this particular Hooter's vs the others in the franchise ?

No. I think that’s the point.

The people who don’t know quality food asked for a Hooters. I find it hard to believe with an overall rating of 2.5 stars anyone would ask for this place. How about getting some quality places to dine in the villages

I think cold beer, boobs and sports on TV trumps quality food in many cases.

starflyte1 07-02-2025 06:40 AM

Years ago, Hooters had the best wings. I hope that continues here in TV.

The people who feel the need to announce that they know quality food aren’t likely to be satisfied anywhere. Hooter’s intended market isn’t the self-proclaimed food snobs.

Hard to understand an “overall rating of 2.5 stars” for a location that hasn’t opened its doors yet. Searching for ratings at other locations I didn’t see any overall ratings that low.

I’m looking forwards to it. Really liked their wings, fries, and grouper in other locations so it will be great to have it accessible y golf cart.

jimleas 07-02-2025 06:51 AM

Can't wait! I only go to Hooters for their food (and I used to buy Playboy Magazine only for the articles)! :)

Take the lead on that. Others will join you, I'm sure.

Guess we will not see you there than.

Do you have to have large hooters to work there? Plenty of people here qualify including all genders. It's a positive addition!

I don't think the old farts with manboobs are looking for jobs. They're too busy hanging around the pools showing off their cleavage.

What are villagers more excited about? The Hooters opening or the Costco opening?

I am not a Hooters patron, and I heard they have financial problems.
This is what I found on the internet:

"Hooters filed for bankruptcy to address $376 million in debt and plans to sell over 100 corporate-owned locations to franchisees. The company is also closing some underperforming locations. Despite these changes, Hooters intends to remain a viable business and is focusing on a pure franchise model."

This is not a good sign, if it was me, I would not be in a rush to open a Hooters.

Do some more research. Read some of the other threads on this.

I am a huge supporter of DEI programs. The Village's Hooters should only hire Village's residents!

Let's see how that turns out! or is it falls out?

Hooters would do that if the owners had a death wish.

billbob 07-03-2025 04:29 AM

Hooter has good wings?

Glad to hear Hooters has good wings - I'm more of a breast man, so I guess there's no need to go to Hooters. Guess I'll go to KFC.

Let’s see… How can I word it so you might understand….

Hooters is not my thing. Well not since the 90s anyway.

I was wishing good luck to the new location as well wishers tend to do.

And I hoped that the patrons enjoy their visits there.

Good bet the new Hooter's will put your well wishes on their wall of Fame.

NoMo50 07-03-2025 06:20 AM

The new Hooters has been running a soft opening for the past few days. Just show up, get seated, and get one free drink with free appetizer for the table. The parking lot has been packed.

Bay Kid 07-03-2025 06:26 AM

I have a friend that was a pilot for Hooters Airlines for a few years. He said it was a fun job.

NOPE don’t need to be somewhere where the quality of food is terrible and all the old men with their tongues hanging out about the young girls. So enjoy

Another sub par eatery in The Villages

Road-Runner 07-03-2025 08:53 AM

Zero issues with Hooters, but what this area really needs is a Wendy's, a Chick Fil A, even a Taco Bell. We have no fast food choices south of 44 except a McDonalds which I do have a problem with (food's horrible).

There are 3 different companies involved and the original guys that opened Hooters are the ones buying it back from the company that is filing bankruptcy. They are also the ones opening the new locations. Banks don't know how to run a restaurant and that's the same reason that Red Lobster went into bankruptcy. They strip the meat off companies and leave the mostly dead carcass to pay creditors pennies on the dollar. I'm glad the original guys care enough to revive Hooters.

If you mean “upscale” it probably won’t last due to bad reviews it will get because of the quality/quantity of the food vs. the high prices of the food.

Then why did you buy there? Surely you knew what was there.
