Wildlife in The Villages -- alligators, snakes, otters, eagles, owls, interactions

Interested in seeing what kind of wildlife that we have right here in The Villages? I have taken hundreds of videos of alligators, snakes, otters, eagles, owls, turtles, and more, including the behaviors and interactions among them. I have just created a YouTube channel containing all my videos of what I've seen here over these past 5 years. Here is the link to my wildlife videos: Wildlife in The Villages - YouTube

Do you have any pictures of foxes. I've seen one near my back yard.

Great videos and the little hidden gem: otter scat. Makes me now wonder what does an alligator's poop look like?

speaking of wild life read somewhere a fox was seen in a town square gazebo

You are missing a lot of land animals. Check Ring doorbell footages. I am a walker/jogger and see bobcats, coyotes, foxes, and a few bunnies and squirrels. A few eagles have landed 50 to 60 feet away. Humbling. This place is a hoppin.

Our neighbors camera catches Opossum, Raccoons, Coyotes, Foxes and Bobcats all the time. We live close to the Evanspraire Preserve.

Thank you so much for posting; just one question, where is that spring? We love seeing wildlife, and that looks like a great place to watch the wild world go by.

The Fenney spring nature boardwalk is just off to the side of the Fenney rec center. It opens at 7:00 a.m. and stays open until dusk. It is a shaded boardwalk that is only a quarter of a mile around.

There are lots of cougars down here - especially prolific in the squares at night.

I found a 5 foot alligator in my backyard and have no idea how it got in there because I have a concrete wall and fenced in.
Tried to post a picture, but wasn't able to

yporter 07-23-2025 12:15 PM

Thanks - we'll check it out!

If you keep looking through my videos, you might even find another little hidden gem or two. A few days ago, I saw an exciting interaction between 2 alligators. One alligator had killed another alligator, of which that part I did not witness. But I did videotape the rest of what happened. Here is the link to one of my videos of what happened afterwards: https://youtu.be/A-VF6hUgihc?si=QNfAtBko6Vzp9mpA

Do you ever come across snakes on your walk/jog?

Once you hit reply, you might have to then click on "Go advanced" to upload your picture. But I'm not exactly sure.
