Sad news. Rest in peace. 😪

Time for the Patriots to retire Crazy Train as the song they play when the team comes out on the field. The really scary part is that Kieth Richards and Willie Nelson are still alive to play at Ozzy’s funeral?

So my brothers and me would sit in the basement playing cards. We would listen to the Monkees, Beatles, Rolling Stones, etc. But one album we listened to every time was the first Black Sabbath album.

Local connection to Ozzy.

In 1982, his bus broke down and his band had to spend the night in Leesburg at Flying Baron Estates. The property was owned by the company that owned the tour bus.

The next morning, the tour bus driver (who was a private pilot) took a single-engine plane up and gave some band members a ride.

Unfortunately, the plane crashed killing everyone aboard including guitarist Randy Rhoads.

Rhoads was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2021.

Ouch, this one hurts. A few years ago he was “dating” behind his wife’s back and she was very upset, wondering what she should do. She was quite furious as she is a willful lady who was also his manager. I sent her a Facebook post repeating Hillary Clinton’s justification for “standing by her man” or giving him another chance etc. Sharon never replied to my post but she kept him. Long story why. Now she lost him permanently. He was a very successful rock star but it took its toll. My best wishes to the family and all the fans out there, who loved Black Sabbath.

I wonder how long the news organizations had his life tribute planned.

This post brought me back to my early teen years when my friend and I would go sit under a newly constructed highway bridge to listen to Black Sabbath on my battery, powered cassette player and smoke cigarettes we took from our parents.

Yep…..and the Beatles broke up too ………

Most people are nostalgic because these rockers came up during our " happy days" in any case R. I. P.

For my 11th birthday, I unwrapped what would become the soundtrack to my teen rebellion: a Juliette record player and Led Zeppelin IV. While I was busy trying to decode the album cover like it was some ancient wizard map, my older cousin Gus, 18, who to me was cool, mysterious, and wore a fringe vest, handed me a freshly minted copy of Paranoid by Black Sabbath.

That was a game changer.

I adored Zeppelin, sure. But Paranoid? That album crept into my brain like a sweet metal goblin and refused to leave. Gus and I must’ve played it so often that even the vinyl grooves looked dizzy.

Dad hated it. Like, dramatically hated it, complete with threats of throwing it in the trash and muttered warnings about “the devil.” Mom, however, would sit with me, nod along like she understood teenage angst through the lens of Ozzy’s vocal wail. That’s love.

It wasn’t just music for me, it was magic, it was rebellion, and frankly quality bonding time between a kid, his mother, and a record player that probably hummed louder than the speakers.

Rock on Ozzy and say hello to Mom!

The ghosts dove’s in sky finely came home to roost. Ozzy should’ve have bit those heads off.
