After this prior "lightning" thread was posted ... https://www.talkofthevillages.com/fo...7-25-a-360559/ ... 5 people signed up for Weather Club announcements about upcoming talks. Four were women and One was a man.

I guess the women know when to come in out of the rain?

ElDiabloJoe 08-13-2025 08:31 AM

I'm gonna attribute a large cause of that to two things:

1). Women remaining under cover while men dash out to get the car for them;
2). Women remaining under cover while men do what must be done, i.e. clear roads, take down flags, close up hurricane shutters, get groceries, etc.

This is the part where women say they can do everything a man can do - but they don't. Can and Do are two very different things. Women say they can live without men. Maybe true. Until the septic backs up, the pipes burst, the power lines fall, etc. I think there are VERY few women on Mike Rowe's shows.

I'd start seeking cover---not from lightning but from the responses you're going to get from 50.1% of the population (higher in The Villages) :1rotfl::1rotfl::1rotfl:

Yep, too much toxic masculinity for the easily offended crowd.

I recently read divorce % across all types of marriage.
Lesbian marriage was the highest rate by a large % followed by heterosexual marriage, but the least number of divorces, way down the list, was gay marriages.
Simple reason is, two women in a lesbian relationship, one woman in a hetero marriage, but two men in a gay marriage.

Statistically, of heterosexual relationships (dating, long-term relationship or marriage) that end, 80% of the time it is women who initiate the dissolution. The number one reason is boredom. So the above makes sense.

The next time my dear wife offers to go out in the rain to get the car will be the first. Men and women are equal only to the extent the wife wants to be equal.

Not surprising, female hormones are to blame.

Never a woman's libber, I have always loved the so called 'division of labor' of the sexes and appreciate the handsome masculine man that I married.

I know he loves the femininity which I possess in our one and only marriage.

Have you ever listened to the 60's song, Yakity Yack?

Directives from a mother to her teen aged son had me laughing my butt off as I was driving last week.

Women do have a tendency to be Bossy, I admit. lol

And we have a winner folks.

The "conclusion" you plucked out of the sky couldn't be more erroneous or shallow.
But, that ^^^ shines a beacon on where to start to become better informed of the realities.

Some people have old-school views and lifestyles while others prefer to live in the current era. To each, their own.

P.S. I have met or known far, far, far more compliant women than I have ever met 'bossy' and I've lived in 3 regions of the USA and 5 states. So, there's that.

IMO Laughable the sooo many knows everything about relationships when guessing over half have been divorced or not in relationship. IMO no two are same or alike, either to grow together or grow apart, or just can’t stand each other anymore.:cryin2:

According to Duck Duck Go AI:

Quote:

Women are more likely to initiate breakups and divorces than men, with studies showing that about 70% of divorces are initiated by women.
So I was off by 10% as I was pulling from memory. I was hardly "erroneous" and if providing accurate data is "shallow", then I guess you got me. Actual reality stinks when it conflicts with your world view.

More plucking. I wasn't referring to the stats or that more women initiate divorce than men. (Which isn't in the least surprising to anyone that understands these kinds of issues. While, apparently, some others remain confounded.)

Since most females go into the rain with umbrellas, but will take note walking with lightning present isn’t a smart idea

Should I worry that when walking together with umbrella my wife makes sure I hold it?
