TOTV poster awards

I would like to suggest the implementation of an annual TOTV Poster Awards Program. An example of the awards might be:

The TOTV Tony Award - This would be awarded to the TOTV poster most likely to have a post unceremoniously terminated and expelled to an unknown zone where deleted posts go. Wouldn't it be fun to see what didn't make muster.

The Graciegirl Award -for the poster everyone should have in their friends list.

The Talk Host Sheriff's Award - to posters who patrol the forum and enforce civility and context without hitting the delete button. While he makes you nervous when his name pops up in your thread, you do appreciate the quality of forums he protects.

The Bucco,Billethkid Award - for posters who prefer the raucous, rough and tumble of the Political Forum but occasionally make excursions into the General Forum to share their sage wisdom and insights.

The Bosoxfan - to the poster signature that is not afraid to acknowledge the greatest team in baseball in all his posts.

The Glass Half Empty Award - for the poster most suspicious of the evil developer. This award may have multiple recipients.

The Glass Half Full Award - for the poster who believes the developer is a candidate for beatification on the road to sainthood. There may be multiple recipients for this award as well.

The Redwitch Award for the poster who you rarely agree with but love her style. Class act.

The Villages Kuhuna Award - usually found in the Political Forum. This award goes to the poster you can always get an informed, intelligent debate from, even if you occasionally disagree.

I've got some more but, we have a 9:30 tea time, or is it tee time, at Palmer. Feel free to add your own award ideas. Have fun.

OOPS - Tony can you capitalize the header?

Taltarzac 02-13-2011 08:57 AM

The Fumar Award...

...where dogs are kings. Not!

How can you not appreciate Dee? She is the voice of liberalism in TV and here, that is somewhat refreshing. She obviously thinks things through for herself. :mademyday:

redwitch 02-13-2011 11:20 AM

But how can you rarely agree with me? You may not want to admit it, but deep down you know I'm right. ;-)

tony 02-13-2011 11:44 AM

Wonder if Cabo has any nominations?

redwitch 02-13-2011 12:11 PM

Well, I do think it should be the Cabo/Redwitch Award (as long as Cabo understands he may disagree with me, but I'm still right). :loco:

2BNTV 02-13-2011 12:37 PM

How about "I agree we disagree politely" award? :)

sschuler1 02-13-2011 04:33 PM

How about the Boomer Award for the poster who using the grammar and punctuation/!?, bestest for the year?

The TOTV Boomer Award will be given to the most deserving English major.

What's this I hear about Sue Schuler and Mr. Tony being in cahoots here insinuating that I am an English major???

And here i am, having just returned from a nice evening out, only to find that those rumors about me are being read and spread in this thread.

And to make things even more difficult, i am trying to defend myself on an iPad, typing with one finger, and unable to find spellcheck.

I do not even know if 'in cahoots' is one word or two and I have no idea where spellcheck is on this thing. It's probably right under my nose and I still can't find it.

Soooooooo, ask yourselves this question........If i were really an English major, how would i ever even consider posting something without being able to check to see what the deal is with incahoots or in cahoots?

Boomer the Besmirched

Boomer 02-14-2011 12:28 AM

And another thing.....

I was trying to go back and add a PS to my post above and I can't figure out how to do that on this iPad either so I have to start a new post with what I wanted to put in the last one but my iPad will not tell me how.

Anyway, I want to say hi to Sue Schuler and say that I hope her singing in TV is going great.....

Hi Sue,

I hope someday i get to hear you sing.

I also must warn you to be very careful about succumbing to Mr. Tony's rumor mongering about my alleged English majorness.

Boomer

I like it! The Cabo/Redwitch Award - for always being thoughtful, factual and well spoken!

Let's see, how about:

A Pooh Award - for random posts of kindness.

A Fumar / K-9 Lover's Award - for pairs of TOTVers who are strikingly opposites.

A Katezbox Award - for welcoming back a great poster after a long, long absence.

A Barefoot Award - for posters who generate discussion that lasts through the ages, or who generate discussions on subjects that range all over the map.

Welllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll Boom. Being an English major, with all the wonderful things that entails, does not make one a techy.

chuckinca 02-15-2011 01:49 PM

.

Pturner 02-15-2011 03:07 PM

Ok,

A Taltarzac Award - for best stats on TOTV posters.

A l2ridehd Award - for best stats of the year on the TV housing market

A Zcaveman Award - for most helpful post of the year (in honor of his Nuts & Bolts contribution).

A Shadow Award - for best disappearing post. (Although :cryin2: I didn't see it, it sure generated a lot of discussion for it's short shelf life.)

Tom Hannon 02-15-2011 03:28 PM

And how bout a "ROOKIE OF THE YEAR AWARD" to Bill-and-Brillo?

And a "Mr Nice Guy Award" to Russ.Boston

faithfulfrank 02-15-2011 03:50 PM

I like the Graciegirl award, for the poster everyone wishes they had for a neighbor.....

There are many good folks here....

Maybe the freezin-teasin award, to those folks who are sadly still stuck up north in freezing dreary weather who come to TOTV for an "internet Florida vacation"....a free coping skill that helps them endure not yet being a full time Floridian....

Frank

jebartle 02-15-2011 06:45 PM

How about a

Political "Pickle" Award.....for "pickling" and bickering!

Not so!! We have a Russ Boston fan club that meets weekly at my house.

You are just about perfect Russ, except you don't like cats, and you are from Boston, so hugging isn't high on your list....But other than that..you're the best!

Jim and I are Bay Staters and we hug - a lot (and not just each other).

Russ is so nice that I never knew that he REALLY didn't like cats - even though he has been to my house and been greeted by our cat - Tommy, Tad and Mlle. Claudie - as well as Finley the cute Maltipoo (a bit smaller than the cats)...

Russ_Boston 02-16-2011 11:02 AM

Cats are fine as long as they live somewhere else! I'm fine as long as I take an anti-histamine first.
