Hopefully it will come out on Fandango at Home soon so I have time to read the lyrics to the very long play. I do often have trouble understanding the words in various musicals and this one with the combination of various genres of music will be challenging.

Disney+ has had it for a few years now. You may be able to get a free trial.

Hamilton and its inherently and infused political leanings and statements are very high on my list of productions with which to never bother.

I am just curious as how they handle Burr....Aaron Burr. I cannot say that with a mouthful of sandwich either. Especially if I have no milk. Got Milk.


My late younger brother did marry a Jamaican lady though so I have heard a lot about what it is like to be an immigrant as well as a minority member in the United States. Her eldest son had a very small part in a Robin Williams movie -- August Rush.

We saw it a few years ago when visiting friends in San Francisco The play is very long. I couldn't speak highly enough of the actors. Great voices. I think the play is so long as each song seemed like it would never end. The only other play I saw was Master Class at the Wilbur theatre in Boston with Faye Dunaway.

I saw a few plays in San Francisco and a few in Santa Rosa, CA and a season worth at the Guthrie Theater in Minneapolis.


I could really relate to Harvey as I seem to have invisible friends.

Love the musical, the poetic words without the standard rhyming like book and nook and the multiple musical themes cascading throughout.

We were also hesitant of the play until a friend advised me to stop avoiding it. The words are rapid. We started with the CD and honestly listened to it lots and then have watched the Disney + show with captions many times. Recommend you break it into 2 parts. The Revolution - Part 1 and come back another day for Our Country’s Foundation - Part 2. Have seen the musical live as well and frankly with length, prefer Disney+ 2 nighters with the chance for two bags of popcorn.

Cannot help but choke up every time I hear the song Unimaginable.

I see that the Aaron Burr fan was actually eating peanut butter. Probably a peanut butter sandwich? The "Got Milk" campaign is making a comeback on its 30th anniversary.

I read where Hamilton is expected to make $10m from the release this week. Not bad for a 10 year-old show.
A friend’s son was in the original ensemble (and briefly took over the Jefferson/Lafayette role). What a talented cast.

One of the favorite lines in the show is from King George III when he says "When push comes to shove, I will kill your friends and family, to remind you of my love," King George is a hoot.

Alexander Hamilton was born on the Caribbean Island of St. Nevis. His father was a Scot and the son of a laird. His mother was half English (on her mother’s side) and half French (her father was a Protestant Huguenot). So, Hamilton was 100% white. His childhood was hard, especially after his mother died, leaving him an orphan, in 1768. But he was a precocious genius and voracious reader who took advantage of all the educational and work opportunities offered by mentors and benefactors, and he became one of the most important men in American history.

Instead of watching the musical, which introduces a lot of inaccurate ideas, I recommend actually reading Ron Chernow’s outstanding biography of Hamilton, or listen to it. (The musical was partly based on that biography, but made lots of changes. Chernow praised it, as he was getting a lot of money from being the source, but authors generally do that when their books are turned into plays or musicals or movies or TV, even if privately they are upset by the changes.)

If Hamilton was actually of mixed race, I’d have no trouble with that, but he wasn’t.

I've watched it at least 7 times. Les Miz used to be my favorite musical, but Hamilton now has that honor. I can't imagine anyone, who has never seen it, not liking it. It's brilliant. Lin Manuel Miranda is a genius. If you watch it on Disney, the first time you may want to use close captioning to get all the lyrics coming at you rapid fire.

Saw it this afternoon. Really loved it. Understood almost all the words, too.

The times that King George came on were often the most amusing.

You make some great points here MandoMan - my feelings as well. I loved Chernow's book and liked the musical when I saw it in NYC (it was entertaining), but was a bit annoyed by the historically inaccurate aspects of the production. It didn't have to be that way.
