Rain, rain, go away!

Here in central OH, we're on track to have the wettest April on record. Just glad it hasn't all been snow!! We even had a number of small tornadoes touch down in the area last week, which is pretty unusual for these parts.

While sobbing in my cereal this morning about our local weather woes :), I got to thinking about all the wet weather and storm problems others across the country have been experiencing. All it takes is a brief look at the local or national news to see the utter devastation hitting other parts of our nation.

It helps me think twice about whatever we might think about our own little issues. "No matter how bad you might feel you have it, there are others who have it far worse." It applies to so many things in life.

Thoughts and prayers are with those experiencing the worst of Mother Nature this spring.

:agree: There is a lot of power in prayer.

I have to remind myself when I think things are bad that it could be much worse.

We are down in Memphis watching the Mississippi River take over, flooding everywhere. Can't wait to be back in TV in July!!
Be safe up there

Thanks, P. It's Ohio.........we can always hope!!!! :1rotfl:

Another inch/inch-and-a-half of rain expected tonight and tomorrow. Pretty soon, I'm gonna need an airboat to be able to mow the yard!

Is there a form we can fill out to send some of this rain down to FL???

Bill :)

BigMike 05-03-2011 07:28 AM

Looks like we will be OK. but I am starting to get a little worried the animals are walking around two by two :1rotfl:

memason 05-03-2011 08:04 AM

Hey Bill.... We'll trade you two days of bright sunshine [and 90 degrees] for one day of a good soaking rain! We need it!

ohiogolf 05-03-2011 08:19 AM

We have been back home in the Cleveland area for two weeks and miss the sunshine. Rain has fallen almost every day. At least the Cleveland Indians are winning and brightening up the atmosphere.

Bill:

Do you need volunteers to build an ark. :1rotfl:

Seriously, I hope the weather turns for the better.

Best Wishes.

Jhooman 05-03-2011 04:53 PM

Hey Bill

I appreciate your positive outlook and funny posts.

Sometimes I get into my negative thinking too, then I stop, look around and realize I have some darn good quality problems.

Today I was playing golf in Palos Verdes, Ca with an amazing view of Catalina Island. The sun was shining, I played with some terrific new best friends and realized I could be picking strawberries. Life is so good, it's really about my perception.

Once again, thank you for your great posts, here in California I get your humor.:1rotfl: Hope to see you and the wife in TV when we sell our home, we will be full time Froggers.

Take care.

You fellow Ohioans aren't very encouraging.....I'm scheduled to leave lower Paradise for our summer home on Sandusky Bay on Saturday - I hope it doesn't snow!:1rotfl:

Some knuckleheaded weather guy here in central OH said we might get a touch of frost in some low-lying areas around here tomorrow night - wonderful! So bring your snowshoes......and a rowboat!!! :MOJE_whot:

Bill :)

Bill-n-Brillo 05-03-2011 10:21 PM

2B - I appreciate the offer to help with the ark. No need, though - we kept the one we already built with the neighbors earlier this spring!! The rain just keeps on a-coming! :)

jh - Thank you for your comments. :) And you're right: Life is generally what you make of it. Let us know when you get to TV!

Hey Bill And Brillo

Weather update here in Indaina...ok today and tomorrow...although looks like rain outside my window to me....but Friday thru Sun rain again...gotta have a sense of humor about it!!!

Would gladly share with the Villages!!!

Ohiogirl 05-04-2011 07:43 AM

just got back to Central Ohio

Left The Villages Sunday, stopped in NC for 2 beautiful days, got here last night - rain was down to a drizzle most of the way from the WV border and even stopped for awhile. This morning is again gray and cloudy, driveway is wet so it must have rained again last night!

Positive side: everything is really, really green and it looks like we didn't miss Ohio's lovely spring after all, as it hasn't really started in earnest yet - too cold!

Note to self: come back a little later next year.

Bill:

I have always enjoyed your sense of humor.

How ironic it is that I am posting this at work and it is raining cats and dogs.

I hope the rain and gloomy days let up so you enjoy some sunshine.

I hope to meet you someday in TV.

central Ohio

We spent eleven wonderful days at our new home in Lynhaven with only one small five minute rain shower. Here in Circleville, Ohio, it is 45 degrees and, of course, raining. I had planted a few things in the garden before we left here. I suppose it has washed away--it's too wet to go check. The lawn is about knee high, too, from all the rain. When the poor farmers here are able to get in the fields, it may be too late to plant. I had cleaned, weeded and mulched flower beds and have hostas everywhere! Tulips are just finishing and iris are making buds. Hydrangeas can't wait for a little sun--spring is beautiful--- north and south.

billnterri 05-04-2011 11:33 AM

I m soooo happy we will be leaving Ohio for good and moving to TV June 25. Seems like Ohio weather has deteriorated these past 4-5 years. Can't even buy a few days of sunshine until late May or June.

ohiogolf 05-04-2011 02:00 PM

All you Ohioans, get out your sunglasses!!!!! As on 3:00 PM today the sun is shining in Cleveland!!!:BigApplause:
