Last Day is over
Well, with so many people sucked up by The Rapture, it ought to be easier to get into a restaurant or a movie today, right? Or do we have to wait until Oct. 21?

Still here...
I just dropped in to see what condition my condition is in.
:sing: |
How is it out there??????.
Mark Twain said. "If the world comes to an end, I want to be in Cincinnati. Everything comes there ten years later". |
Pturner, the December 21, 2012 thing is on the Mayan Calendar. I was interested in why it stopped on that date and did some research. Google is great for doing these sort of things.
What I learned is that the earths poles shifts about 5 to 7 degree every 26,000 years a few degrees back and forth. The shift does not happen all at once, but takes the full 26K or so to get done. What was once desert is now tropical forest and what once was tropical forest is now desert. So, scientists that study these things found evidence of a shift in weather patterns every 26K or there abouts. Will the world end, I don't think so, but we might see a major shift in our weather, might be better for us or worse for us. Will just have to wait and see which way the wind blows. The educated scientist say that this happens because of the line up of all things in the heavens at the same time. Who knows, this is the first one that I will experience and mostly like the last. BTW, when I dropped in to see what condition my condition was in, I tore my mind on a jagged piece of sky. |

I wonder what the uneducated scientist says? :024: |

Humor aside...
People who make predictions like this deserve to be laughed at. It reminds me of Oral Roberts claiming that God would take his life if people didn't donate, what was it, 8,000,000? He didn't get all of it, but somehow lived.
What really irritates me about all of this is that atheists and people of different religions look at things like this and lump all Christians into the same category. I don't like being looked at scornfully because of people like Oral Roberts or this Camping guy. It gives the Bible an undeserved reputation as being a useless book. It gives Christianity (meaning those who follow all of the teachings of Christ) a black eye, so to speak. The Bible, the same book Camping used to make his predictions, plainly tells us that the world will end. This same book also plainly tells us that God alone knows when (Matt 24:36). If one is to believe the Bible, one must believe this statement by Jesus, claiming that even He doesn't know when it will happen. It seems to me that to ignore one very plain and easy to understand verse and yet make this type of prediction smacks not only of ignorance, but arrogance. I don't mind if people laugh at me because I believe the Bible. I do wish fanatics would quit twisting what the Bible says to make it say what they want instead of what God wants. |

Someone asked me on Friday what I thought of the world ending on Saturday and I said I didn't believe that was going to happen.
Well, it's Monday, we are still here and life is good. IMHO - When some people make outragous claims, I always wonder if there is a book coming out so they make money. It looks like I am off to make some popcorn. |
