what the h................

Bill-n-Brillo 06-08-2011 08:16 PM

I think the first part is a PM from Tony to silvertoken. The second part is the response.

silvertoken - Wouldn't it be easy/simple enough to just say "I'm sorry about that!" and hang in there with TOTV?

Bill

graciegirl 06-08-2011 08:19 PM

But Bill,

What did Silvertoken do? I think scatological pertains to excrement. I didn't see anybody write about that. But of course I am not as fluent with words as those English Majors.

One has to keep ones nose clean on here or one is out the door.

Please say you're sorry and stay, Silvertoken.

I think Bill is correct. I had to lookup scatological to see what it meant! That's a pretty big word... Tony has been conversing with too many English majors lately.... :loco:

Bill-n-Brillo 06-08-2011 08:29 PM

gracie - There was an explicit reference made in the "Danger!! Eating outside Villages Square" thread regarding......ummmm......"things" reversing direction, shall we say, which was met with some interesting feedback. That thread has been 'cleaned up' (as it were.......). :)

Scatological can refer to things such as the above as well as what you mentioned.

Silvertoken, I have no idea what Tony PMed you about. Many of us, including me, have been reprimanded by Tony. Please don't take it personally. I know it stings when you get that kind of message. I've had my nose out of joint many times because Tony has corrected me.

But in all reality; it turned out he was right in the long run. We are all humans and make mistakes. Take a little while for the emotions to calm down and think about it before you leave.

I've been on another forum during the past few months. Trust me, the moderation of this forum is a breath of fresh air. I'm glad we have Tony and the other moderators. It is their job to remind us when things are headed in the wrong direction on this forum.

Bill, I'm glad you 'splained this. I was confused. Thanks.

silvertoken 06-08-2011 09:00 PM

I happen to have a crazy email addy

No this is not Tony, I got in trouble by Tony for using a word vomit when I recieved a comment from a person on the blog by the name boogertosser or something to that effect. I am silvertoken. I complained about Dunkin Donuts at the square because my wife and I were injured by the blowers (cleaning people) in the morning. My wife was injured in the eyes and myself with the gas fumes when he started the engines behind me and made me sick. This caused a lot of mean remarks from some causing Tony to send me this letter.

Very best regards,

Now-now! Don't you think that that was a really scatological thing to say about poor Tony? http://www.casachayanne.com/emoticons/shameonyou.gif

Freeda 06-08-2011 09:14 PM

Silvertoken I sent you a PM. As mentioned above others of us (including me too) have been called out here and there, deservedly in my case. You have shared some good ideas and all of us benefit from each other. Hope you'll stay. Just shake it off.

Me too. And when I reread the posts to try to clear my confusion, another poster left me really befuddled. And now that poster has edited their original response. Hmmm I hear Twilight Zone music.

Please just say you're sorry and stay.

For Mr. Tony, I've composed this ditty,
Thank you, Sir, for keeping TOTV nice and pretty,
You know when to bounce,
Even though some will pounce,
Without you, this place could get downright.....uh....um.....gritty.

Boomer. You are the teachers pet.

I never, ever got in trouble in school.

The people who own and run this forum have a right to direct it the way they see fit. AND, the people who post on this forum can choose to do what is expected or not. That is the way of life. I love the people who post here. I think that the administrators are doing a good job. I am just not used to getting in trouble.

I would miss this forum horribly if I were banned. I am trying to be good.

katezbox 06-09-2011 07:56 AM

I had no idea what scatological was. Thanks to the googlers.

Silvertoken, I thought I understood about your first post; but your second really confused me.

I have generally found Tony to be fair.

I do agree some folks "piled on" against you - but I think more were aimed at the post by someone referring to suing. The folks using the blowers should have asked if you would move before starting. One issue may have been that they have limited English and did not know how...

k

JimJoe 06-09-2011 08:48 AM

I must agree..

I too had a major dispute with Tony about one of my posts and I must say, when I wrote to him and clarified my position on the issue, he was VERY fair.
We are all human and make mistakes... even Tony..
Just kidding Tony... Thanks for being fair to me.

tony 06-09-2011 10:58 AM

Mistake, Jim? Me? Get serious.

Oh, wait. You're right. I did make a mistake once back in the early 90s. I said something to a friend, and mistakenly thought I had been wrong.

Ohhhhhhhhh, Gracie,

If you only knew.........Teacher's pet? Me? You never, ever got into trouble in school?

I was sent out into the hall on a fairly regular basis, usually because I was talking to whoever was sitting next to me in class. That was OK though because out in the hall (where I guess you were never sent) there were always people passing by and I could talk to them. Sometimes they were on their way to the principal's office and would tell me why.

One time I was sent out into the hall because the teacher walked into the room and caught me pounding a guy with my "Adventures in Literature" book. But I did not care and would have pounded him again because he was picking on another kid, who was getting ready to cry. I bopped him a good one. Maybe three, at least. Before the teacher banished Me. Geez. (That guy got the message though.)

I also got into trouble for PDA. Remember "Public Display of Affection." All I was doing was kissing my boyfriend -- during lunch-- between classes -- whenever. Hiding in the locker bay or wherever. And it was always the principal who caught me. And then I would have to find a new place to hide 'til he found me again. (Geez. That guy needed to work as hard at his real job as he did at finding me.)

Gracie, I don't know nuthin' 'bout never getting into trouble. I have even been known to carry a picket sign a time or two.

As far as TOTV goes, I try to behave myself. But there are times when I have to almost chew off my typing fingers.

I can still remember being afraid to sign on and having no idea what a forum even was when I stumbled across this place because I knew there had to be more info out there on TV than what was advertised. And even though we have not made it to that second home decision yet, I sure have hung around here a long time just being Boomer. We have had some silly good times here.

Boomer

Freeda 06-09-2011 08:12 PM

Boomer . . . was this you? Yes, I thought so.

Boomer 06-09-2011 10:34 PM

Hi Freeda,

Nope. That was not me. I was really quite perfect in elementary school, wearing my little cat-eye glasses and getting such good grades. Always in that Blue Bird reading group. I had all 64 Crayolas. I had not yet started to run with scissors. Heck, I was a nerd before nerd was a word.

But then came high school.........

and my spunk kicked in.

It's good to see you back...please stay!:o
