Too many "http" in the link. Remove the second one and the link works.

That is absolutely the worst case of alleged hunting violations I have ever heard of. Makes our PA redneck boys seem pretty harmless. If that is all true, what an outlandish disrespect for wildlife. How sad.

Nothing new. This was posted a couple weeks ago. Byline date is June 27.

This photo makes me sick.

Kind of makes you wonder about motives, does it not?

cquick 07-20-2011 12:58 PM

is this one of the Morse family that owns the villages?

If this is one of the family, I say shame on him! Maybe his money has gone to his head!

I just don't understand killing elephants.

Expensive Elephant

If you follow this link:

http://www.safaritrackers.com/wp-con...Rates-2011.pdf

you will find that the 16 day safari with permit for elephant will cost you about $47,000 plus the trophy fee of $25,000 plus the companion hunt rate of $12,900. Unfortunately, these rates do not include airfare, hotel accomodations, gratuities, air freight for trophies, entry Visa or departure taxes. It not only takes a BIG man to kill an elephant but also a very rich one also.

Good info

Thanks all for bring this into focus.

Time and again, people in The Villages and on this forum have said that what the Morse family does in its spare time is none of our business. That should include killing elephants.

Pehaps but information such as this gives one more insight into a family that carries soliditary sway over this development. Hmmmmmmmmmmmm

Relevance of the character of the Morse family

Exactly. The continued viability of The Villages depends upon the Developer's integrity in structuring the sale of infrastructure and amenities to the Community Development Districts (which Districts the Developer controls at the time of sale).

Can, cannot, can, cannot, did, did not, did, did not....

We know who the posters are who think the Morse family is nice, and we know who the posters are who think they aren't nice.

If we have been on this forum for a year, we know who feels strongly about both sides. They are very predictable, those posters.

None of us have ever met the Morses in person, had them to dinner or been invited to their home.

So it is difficult to know who is right. There is a little bit of bad in the best of us and a little bit of good in the worst of us.

I like what I see around me. I don't see any dead elephants, so I can go on with my head in the clouds.

Silly Gracie...

Don't get it when people hire someone to lead them to an animal just so they can kill it for the sake of boosting their own ego, and then smile about it :rant-rave:

I don't get it either and do not care. .......reread Graciegirls post again and again and again................Now you should understand and by the way I always agree with her. She is my counsel for all things important in life especially when it concerns the villages.

Thank-you chuckster. I said almost the same thing but deleted it because I'm a new poster. You said it better then me.

bobbya 07-23-2011 07:17 PM

I'm not a hunter and a safari is not on my bucket list, but if it's on yours...go for it. This activity is legal in Tanzania and according to an earlier post this venture added about $80,000 to their economy, so a bunch of Tanzanians are eating better tonight because of it.

Gracie you always make me smile...thanks

Say what? Sorry, but why would I need to read Gracie's post again and again and again. And what am I suppose to understand? I simply made a comment about how I feel about that kind of "hunting". Don't think reading someone's post over and over is gonna change my thinking on that. Nothing against her comments, though.

Gracie, I totally agree with you. In the grand scheme of life, what does it matter?? I may not like what they do, but then again, I don't like a lot of things that others do. Fortunately, I'm not responsible for anything but my own actions. I have far too many other things to worry about!

Am I missing something here? Billmar's post wasn't opposing anything Gracie said, it was simply a commentary on a type of hunting. I agree with Billmar and with Gracie. I don't see that as a contradiction.
