Coming to TV July 27-Aug. 4
Kathy and I will be visiting TV for a week, beginning July 27. Staying in a home rental in Mallory Square. Renting a golf cart from Grandpa & Grandma's (we didn't want a pokey cart).
This will be our 6th trip to TV. Yes, we really are going to retire to TV, but I'm still a little ways from retirement. Kathy retired last month; she's chomping at the bit! Looking forward to our trip to TV (again). We're bringing our golf clubs, naturally, and our LIGHTWEIGHT summer clothes<g>. We figure it gets a little warm there in July!! Any club or social activities recommended during our stay there? Would like to meet some of you, while there. Of course, we look forward to seeing our friends Gracie & family. Gene & Kathy, OH |
Have a safe trip to TV, Gene & Kathy. I would love to see you again, but I'm leaving for Los Angeles July 26 to Aug. 2. Have a fun time and yes,,, it has been extremely hot during the day. Can't imagine how people play golf in this weather but enjoy!! See you soon, I hope.

Follow-up to msgs.
Kathie, Sorry we won't see you this trip! Next time.
Gracie, What a kind gesture on your part. You're cool! We'll arrive TV July 27. I think my Kathy has had her bags packed for several days. She is READY! Gene |
Gracie, you are so nice!

Gene,
In case you are interested, the Investment Education club is meeting this Thursday at 3:30PM at Sea Breeze. I sent you a private message with all the details. Niels |
Investment club meeting
Thanks, Niels
We will try to make that meeting. Glad you remembered my interest. Kathy and I both attended an IBD meeting tonight in our local area. Now, it's packing time for me. Kathy is all set! TV --- here we come on July 27. Our southern Paradise! Some day soon TV will become our permanent Paradise. Not snowbirds. We have talked about TV, as our retirement destination, constantly for the past 3 years. Those who live there now are so-ooo fortunate. Gene & Kathy, Ohio |

I was leaning more towards the concept that you're liable to find a house you'll fall in love with - - - as long as you don't spend it all at the track first!! Bill :) |

Arrived, and very happy!
Well, we sure do like our rental home in Mallory. It's a stretch Gardenia, with a huge patio overlooking tee box #4 or #5 and a small lake on the Amelia Exec. golf course. Got here an hour ago, after first lunching at the Lighthouse at Lake Sumter Square and stopping by Ambrosia store in LS Sq. to buy Ambassador Gracie a small 'green' gift to celebrate their new, permanency in TV. Guess what it is (that's easy with my hint).
Our rental golf cart was parked in our driveway upon our arrival -- thanks to Grandpa's golf cart sales/rentals. Great customer service! We'll try to get in 9 holes late afternoon at the course out our back door, then eat out. Call it '9 and Dine.' Tomorrow (Thurs.) will be Day #2 for us in....Paradise! Gene & Kathy |

Sorry, shaking blonde hair out of eyes. |
Meet and greet. Gene and Kathy. Please P.M. me.
Sunday at noon, please bring something to share. Please P.M. me. |
Gene and Kathy,
Enjoy your visit to TV. May the weather be good while you are there! |
No golf 9, just dine, on Day #1
Well, our first day here (Wed.) --due to rain at 5:30 -- prevented us from golf '9 and Dine' and left us with just 'Dine.' But that's OK. We hooked up with Ambassador Gracie and family after dinner. What great people they are!
Kathy and I will now be playing golf Thurs., 8:16 a.m., at Mallory. It is so peaceful here in Paradise. Gene |

Early bird gets the worm
Needless to say, Kathy and I are having a wonderful experience at TV during our 8-day vacation. 4 more days to go. So many things to observe!
I'll add to that list right now, at 6:15 a.m. Sunday. Went to bed early last night (getting to be a real TVer, huh?). Accordingly, I woke up early (5:25) this morning. Sat on the lanai (overlooking Tee #3 at the Amelia golf course of Mallory) to capture the beautiful silence of the dawn of a new day. I could see the figure of a person at the 2nd set of tee boxes. Appeared this person was wearing a type of a miner's helmet with a light on his forehead. I thought, ???. My question was quickly answered. He was repositioning the tee box location. He apparently had already done tee boxes #3 thru #5. After I watched him do tee box #2, then he got on his utility golf cart and drove to tee box #1. Same process again with this faceless worker (it was still dark). Then he drove to the green, and this time he didn't just sport his miner's helmet; he also drove the golf cart up and onto the green to use the cart's more powerful headlights to 'see his work.' Time to reposition the hole for a 'fresh' day of golfers. Do the math: 513 holes of golfing delight at The Villages. 513 x 5 sets of tee boxes per hole = 2,565 tee box adjustments EVERY DAY while most of us are still sleeping, or just sipping our early-morning coffee. (Note: If there are fewer than 5 sets of tee boxes on the Executive courses, subtract that number from 2,565). Regardless, either result = a lot of EARLY morning work by the golf course employees. All in the spirit/duty of making life more enjoyable at TV. It's now daybreak, as I put the finishing touches on this message. In about an hour, the golfers will begin their days with repositioned tee boxes and green flag pin locations. Little do they know the guys with miner's helmets started working pre-dawn to make golfing at TV an endless, delightful experience. Ahhh---TV. Gene |
