I won!
Looks like we'll be ordering a new Yamaha gas cart from TV in the next few days. There are some obvious options but can you share some that maybe are "not so obvious" but you find very useful and helpful? Thanks for your great ideas! We are probably only going to have one cart and I don't want to wish we'd opted for something because we didn't think about it! :highfive:

full dash led rear light bar sand bottle if you golf :posting:

Some thoughts on options for your Yamaha cart:
- We like the woodgrain dash option as it provides locks for the two glove boxes. - If you golf, this one might not have a ton of appeal. We don't golf (at least at this juncture) so we bought a locking storage trunk that's a Yamaha product. Fits in the bag well in the back of the cart: http://www.yamahagolfcar.com/accesso..._consoles.aspx It's fairly easily to remove to allow you to use the bag well for golf bags. As an aside, I know someone in TV who has one ( I think he still has it) that he'd like to sell for a very reasonable price. He didn't use to golf, now he does. - After the fact, we bought and installed a rear storage tray. Great for jackets, etc. - Also got an 'oversized' cooler that's able to handle larger plastic water/pop bottles, not just 12 oz. cans. - Got a speedometer, too. The prior three items can be seen here: http://www.cartsandclubsocala.com/Accessories.htm Click on 'View Cart Accessories'. - We liked the extra visibility offered by the 3rd brake light/turn signal bar for the rear roof. Thanks, Jim |
In addition to all the above, how about a large mesh tote bag for the rear, and a 12 volt outlet. We also got the Elite seats and love them, though they can be pricey.

Sand Bottle?
I use that nice sand to fill up an ash tray for the butts of my smoking guests!

In-dash fuel gauge and upgraded (captain-chair) seats!
Edited to add: right-side mirror |
Get the larger rectangular mirrors that mount on the outside of the frame. They'll know what you're talking about. We got ours from Villages Golf Cart Store.

Wendy - How did you 'win' the golf cart?
|
I have the same question...
as Russ. How did you win a golf cart or.... did you get your way vs your husband.

I would bet that the "I won!" comment refers to her getting her way about the gas cart purchase. Most married guys knew the outcome of that "debate" before it started. ;) |

And you'd be right gmcneill!! I know all about gas/electric but I still feel more comfortable with gas as big as the Villages is becoming. We've rented both and I just prefer the gas! No excuses! Thanks for all your input. We ordered it today and got a lot of the options you specified! Not knowing anything about golf carts I did not feel comfortable "shopping around" for used carts. We got one with the villa we bought and even though we at first thought it only needed new batteries, Ken Spano had to take it in and called back and said it needed another $1200 of work! When we told him we didn't want to put that kind of money in a used cart (for fear that it would be something else after that work was done), he bought the cart from us and we decided to get a new one (like I wanted). He got a good deal and we got rid of it so it was a win win situation for us both. I felt certain we could find a better deal but like the fact that The Villages wants us to stay happy so I figured they might be pretty good about helping us with any problems we might encounter with the cart. We sure like Larry that sold it to us!:D |

Villages Golf Carts Rock! |
After reading through all the responses, I think I understand what the sand bottle is for. It's a combination water bottle, urinal, grass growing utensil that provides extra traction in the snow.
Just one more question. Is that grass or "grass mon"? :loco: |
QUOTE=Uptown Girl;375198]That's okay, I thought it was a urinal! (for when nature calls on the golf course) Yep... I'm a twit sometimes......[/QUOTE]
